Might be a bit tricky for me - I will have only just returned from a couple of weeks holiday (well deserved of course).

I may have to make an exceptional effort though if The Shed makes a track appearance.......

Despite Pretzel's comments .........it won't be the "Shed" appearing .........however ",Shed 2" will make an appearance,as it is quicker and handles like an Espace should!!!! ;D

I will not be bringing the Shed as it is Wishywashyman who has the dubious honour of having 2 of them, not me (fortunately :). The one you saw on Sunday was the original Shed. I'll ley Wishy describe the difference between the 2 - even I have not had the privelige of seeing the newer one yet.

The "Sheds" as ....in.... your words the "support vehicle" is normally aspirated and "shed 2 " is injected ....hence I will bring shed 2 as it should give an advantage on acceleration .........mind you the handling will still be c**p!!! ;D

Might just be worth the effort to come down if Shed II makes an appearance. Have you heard that Ian will be down?

I hear rumor that my application for "Shed 2"appearing has now been overshadowed by "The Beast of Gurston" making an appearance at the track day???? ;D

I guess there are different levels at any form of motorsport,or for that matter,track days............the only good thing about the rumor is ...........Pretzel"eat your heart out".........your F,T.D is going to dissaper in October!!!!! :) ;D ::)

We've just picked up a sorta shed of our own - didnt want to risk killing the Sud - plus it will be stored for the winter by then, and the 33 is our daily drive and cant risk that not making it home, so we went out and bought a Celica 2.0GT for a song and have stripped it out and will be using that instead!  At least I wont have to worry if it goes bang!  Now, shall I sort that rust out before the event  ;D ;D

Watch out "wishywashy", the Burgundy Beast will demolish the shed on the 19th.  You have been warned!!!  Suggested  protection, use a stout straw bail!

Looks like I'll have to make even more of an effort to get to Sparkford on the day then if I can.

If I can't make it I hope that there will be someone there taking pictures :)

There is no comparison between the "Burgundy Beast " and "Shed 2 ".

Mine is a pure untouched specimin, unlike the beast.........perhaps we should run a handicap.....you can drive with one hand only!!! ;D......or use "Perv"as the handicap!!!!

Please somebody take a camcorder, what with a mad Legacy and the Burgundy Beast I'm going to miss out badly if I can't make it. Not to mention the Shed II and the newly acquired Celica.

BTW Mark - don't bother with the rust - it can only help improve the aerodynamics  ;)

Will be sure to take a camcorder...  Trouble is getting it into the PC.  Could always post you a copy of the tape.

With regard to the rust - I could knock it out and then it would way less  ;D

One wonders whether the Shed I or Shed II, whichever, will be there.  Wishy still hasn't had his head skimmed yet.  His cylinder head needs doing as well!! :o :o

i take it the shed I/II, whatever, isn't going, cos that would very interesting :o :o

Ginetta G15, Focus ST170, Golf GTi, Pulsar GTi-R, Espace, Celica, BMW 318is....  Oh, and some nutter is bringing a Westfield - lets hope its longer lasting than the last one  ;D

Shed I/II is mildly interesting in the cornering angles it can achieve so should be worth a watch.

Still mulling over whether or not to come and spectate.

Will let you know if coming. How much just to sit in the car park and view the maniacs?

However on the day would you be so kind as to supply some straw bales..........as the "beast" is partial to the odd bale as a snack when passing.....through!!!!!

Only the best quality bale will do, you know!  As to the cornering angles on the Shed, they're there even in staight line.  Get a motorcycle cop to jump out in front of him 1/2 way round, that'll spice things up!! 8) ;D

ooops!!..............forgot about that incident....glad you reminded me.....I do prefer scantily clad ladies in maids uniforms though.because that would help to drive in a more erratic manner,more in keeping with track day spectacles ;D

Well, what can I say.  Great track day, really enjoyable.  I have now reached maturity (no chance) as my wheel nuts have now dropped!!  All now secure, so nothing flops around anymore.  Great to see the Shed going round, best laugh we've had in ages.  TIP.  Go to a track-day in beat up heap of sh*t, drive like a lunatic, and get extra laps for your effort, brilliant!!??

Anyway.Mark was obviously feeling sorry for me as Ihave not been out on a track for 15 years.

Also the little Red bus wheels do go round and round .......unlike the "Beast"!!!!!!!.....yours are more like clonk....clonk....clonk. Just like spotty the dog in the woodentops.

Well.... Even though I didn't go around this time it was the perfect pick me up after returning from warmer climes to see the Shed being driven in anger (or is that mild annoyance?) around a track. You don't normally see those cornering roll angles:)

I have a couple of pictures that I will post when I get a moment. (Don't laugh too loudly when you see them).

Will there be any other pictures posted on the Dreamracers site?

Shame about the sheared studs on the Beast. It was nice to see the contrast between roadgoing and race car. Cornering being the real difference. I guess there will be a few cars that will be needing new OSF tyres today.
 
I look forward to the programme for next year's events. Any plans yet?

Planing about 5 or 6 for next year, but will wait for the weather to improve...

Got to admit, yesterday was a great laugh with a real mix and match of folks and equipment.  That chap in the Pulsar was a goddam nutter (fun to watch tho')

Wishy - you see I stuck some fibre glass on the sill of the Toyota in honour of the Espace.

Really enjoyed seeing the Shed out there, and the Beast...

Maybe a Xmas/New Year Track Day for the brave??

Thanks to you guys for winding me up over driving the"Shed"at a track day.

I have'nt had so much fun in years.......It was great throwing the poor thing around the track yesterday.

Thanks to Ian for the advice on tyre pressure ...the afternoon was certainly quieter round the corners and traction was much better when booting it out of the corners.

So perhaps any CA members who have MPV's would like to come down to Sparkford and have laugh.

Must admit, Wishy, it was good to see something different going to a track-day.  I'll get to 1 or 2 of the days next year, Mark, between events.  Don't know about x'mas or new year though.  I don't fancy freezing my nuts off!!!
If any Club Arnage regulars want to see the "Beast" in its natural surroundings, I can post up dates for my events  for 2004, when available.

Its been a fascinating thread, but as the event is now history I will now unsticky it...

Thanks for the comment about the shed beind a "crowd pleaser" or was it "disbelief that some nutter was actually going to drive  the shed round the track".
I only wanted to have some fun in it.....Which I did.

And finally.Ian recommended that I put 40psi in the tyres.I borrowed Ians pump after lunch  and did as Iwas  told, and the difference in handling and traction was definately noticable.....so next time try it yourself.

Renault Espace is definitely not the car to drive at a track day... It's so dangerous, because of the high gravity centre... My experience of a daily espace driver make me feel angry only by thinking running fast with such a car!  :o

I'll better, with mostly the same sensations, drive a Smart  :P

Big up to Wishy for having the guts to run what he brung. At no point did the shed look like it was going to tip over, must be due to the fibreglass panels... Looked like a lot of fun too!

Probably due to the low centre of gravity imparted by the weight of the driver...... ;)

The best bit on the day was when Dreamracers....flagged  me over to as if I was having fun,and mentioned in passing "was I aware that round a couple of the corners the rear wheel was lifting.!"

Hmmmmm......I see what you guys were refering to ,as to the slight body roll on the"shed".

Next track day I go to,I will bring "shed II" as it is certainly quicker and handles slightly better.

Mind you the handling should be better "shed II" has only covered 110,000 miles so far,whereas "shed I" is currently on 308,000 miles on the original engine.

Just bring either!!  They steal the show - thats why we had to keep putting the Celica onto three wheels, and the Beast trying so hard it broke - only way to capture the limelight back from the Shed!

Bringing ether is a tremendous idea.
