Title: French fishermen at it again
Post by: Bentley boy on April 15, 2009, 11:47:43 am
Blocking Calais, Bolougne & Dunkirk http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/kent/7999400.stm

Didn't like the thought of this continuing for a few months.

So glad we went over last weekend  ;D

With luck it will have blown over by mid June.   The only problem I've ever come close to is the year they had the farmers disputes.
But it didn't effect my trip though I did see the tractors on a go slow around one Town.

This should be a continuing item to cover the fisherment, farmers and port workers.

Over 25 years and about 60 trips, I've only been caught once, at that was at Calais for about 5 hours.

What's with those negative vibes Brad?

It's still more than a month away.

I've been giving this some thought.   My conclusion is they should abolish the quotas in return for a commitment from the fishing fleet not to blockade the ports when the fish run out.

And if it comes to it there's always the tunnel.

They are threatening to blockade the Chunnel tomorrow, I'm afraid. :(
