Does anybody know of any one who rents out mopeds or bikes around Le Mans ??? I'm not on a hikeing trip and it's a long way to trek, loaded with tinnies, from green camping to the complex.

Let's hope they don't give you Beausejour places then..... :)

Hate to admit it, but Beausejour has improved over the last few years, with showers, Danish Beer tent and free shuttle buss (OK, only as far as Technoparc roundabout), so isnt THAT bad....

Well, I say THAT bad, I would prefer MB or almost any other  ;D

Anyone stayed in Houx (not Annexe)?  Whats it like in there?

MB seems to be everyones favourite, I would love it , but cant for the life or me every get there .

Beausejour wasnt TOO BAD , just miles away,  and the buses are a pain in the Ar5e .

Robbo

I can only think of one good reason to take a girlie to LM, and it's got nothing to do with carrying beer ;D  Couple of twin sisters that I know were expressing interest in going next year, but the other lads in the club were not very happy about it :o :o

Here's a good reason to take a girlie to Le Mans - to provide the drunken entertainment on the Sunday night  :D

Very good Steve, I might have to suggest it ;)

She's brilliant, without fail every year she does a 'sunday night special'.
Mind you, she suffers a bit on Monday morning on the way back to the ferry.  I remember a couple of years ago when we all stopped at a petrol station she quietly got out of her other halfs cobra, walked across to the pay booth, and chundered down the brick wall.  Very stylish   8)
She claims she was nauseated by the petrol fumes.  :D

It was very delicately done.  Bent forward, one outstretched arm with hand bracing against the wall, the other preventing her t-shirt from getting in the 'firing line'. :-X
Shame the camera wasn't to hand   :(

She's an honoury east anglian cobra driver (by marriage) and rides a huge Suzuki sport bike.  Mind you, she pulled an amazing wheeley and came off it when we had a team drag race at the local friendly abandoned USAF runway last year.  :'(

Hi All

Re Houx, I should keep quiet coz it is quite good, decent bogs and showers, I havent done so well since the tribune site by dunlop bridge in the mid 80's, space is a bit of a squeeze about 5mx5m, and if you are lucky electricity -but only if you are in the right pitches unless you have a f**k off great extension lead. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the back of the pits, or across by the Annexe for Tetre Rouge maybe 15 ish. It was handy this year for the Gig with that 'Jeremy Kwey' Guy - I had never heard of him before!!!!!! Audi really splashed out on that - shame they could not have done the same with petrol in the cars. I heard frank Beila was trying to get to the Carrefour to save a bit on prices

There's is only one bike rental shop, and it rents only VTTs, I gonna try to find back the phone number.

I also know a local entrepreneur who may provide you whatever you want  ;) ...

... and I also must add that Beausejour will probably be upgraded next year with some new facilities.

Robbo

I must admire your expectations here, but NO NO NO
no trenches, no pits, no 5 mile queues for a dump, it aint much to ask, is it?   ;D

My 100th post and the worst .

The toilets weren't that bad , the ones at the Blue entrance / MB car entrance are THE WORST of all. No questions about that.

I tend to save it up until we go to Carrefour and join the queue there.  Plus they have toilet seats.

Own chemical loo is good, but doesn't get over the shower 'facilities' ::)

Title: Re:my legs hurt . . . help any one?
Post by: Russ on September 05, 2003, 11:14:54 am

I'm a bit worried I may appear to be a bit of a pykie with this... but I've never had any real complaints about the camping facilities...

KN in '02, the loos were fine and the showers were warm, just a bit of a queue in the morning.

HA in '03, the loos were again fine, if a little cramped... no room for a broadsheet, but clean anough. And the showers were hot and powerful, with an expected queue at the usual times.

Now I don't like to think I have poor standards, but perhaps the quality of attendee is a little higher in these camp sites and hence the facilities are treated with more respect??  ::)

Can't speak for MB though...  :P

Hear what you say Russ, and I can only speak about Beausejour, but from the viewpoint of a seasoned camper........................bloody awfull

Title: Re:my legs hurt . . . help any one?
Post by: jpchenet on September 05, 2003, 11:35:58 am
I agree Russ. We were on HA this year and the toilets were pretty good.

We had also taken a chemical loo with us and a 12V shower to save queueing (I pinched that idea from someone on here, I think it was Andy Zarse) Divided a 4m x 3m gazebo down the middle with a spare side wall and it bacame our own bathroom  :)

Title: Re:my legs hurt . . . help any one?
Post by: Russ on September 05, 2003, 11:36:35 am
Shocking that there seems to be such a difference between sites really... I guess I've just been lucky!

We even used the public facilities rather than the one in the camper van we had...(not nice to leave the rancid stench of 5 guys worth of beer and burgers so close to your cooking facilities!!!... or even so close to where you're all sitting about!!!)

Perhaps I should have ripped off the seat and pebble dashed the floor to give the place some character... :P

Beausejour is obviously in its infancy, and I hope it improves to the relatively luxurious standards the rest of you seem to enjoy ;D

MB showers are pretty piss poor temperature wise. Never much more than a dribble and temp ranges from bleedin' brass monkeys to slightly less than. Loos cramped and smelly - but we keep going to the ones by the main entrance (coz they're closest) - maybe we should try to help flood out Smokie and the boys by using those ones!!

I can't complain at all about the facilities in Houx Annexe.  They seem to be getting better every year.  At this rate, in 5 years time, there'll be a small oriental man passing hot towels and cologne to you as you walk out of the stalls.  :D
The showers were a wee bit chilly, but we just used the hose pipe we bought (see colonic irrigation thread)

I complain about Beasejour because i wanted Blue. The toilets were good and ididnt use the showers , so i am being unfair to Be Jour ,...

Blue was an exellent location but really bad facilities , hence the new bathroom for next year , maybe a few more ladies........

tried to post a phot but cant...... sorry

Sorry Robbo but that's a bit pathetic.  You need one of those £100 jobs with a pump and frame and are about 30 inches deep.  Great for keeping the beer cold.

Steve HTF do you get on of those in a Cobra? Or when you say East Anglia Cobras, are you referring to the the bottled lager available from the Akash in Burnham Market?
