Title: Problems accessing site?? Post by: smokie on August 29, 2003, 06:53:04 pm It may sound a silly question but...anyone having difficulties getting here?
I'm not, but two members have written today saying they are having intermittent problems - site not found type messages. If you don't respond I will assume either you aren't having problems or you are having a less intermittent problems... Oh, and I'm only interested if the difficulty revolves around your browser not finding the site - not that your Mrs won't allow you on the computer, or you haven't paid your phone bill or some other reason...unless, of course, your reason makes me laugh!! Title: Re:Problems accessing site?? Post by: BigH on August 29, 2003, 07:03:37 pm Access, access...
Access and entry, two fine words for a Friday night, a night when a young man likes to let his hairs down. Actually, yes. Usually it's the morning that's worst and it's being going on for a week or so. Today included. Please, tell me problems at your end. My end has only just started to heal up properly after the CD drive/so big incident. H Title: Re:Problems accessing site?? Post by: Mr. Rick on August 29, 2003, 07:41:10 pm Yep, been a bit wobbly in the mornings for me too (and I am for once not referring to the investment that is my beer belly).
Maybe the forum is just not a "morning type" which must mean it is married or has kids because that's the way it seems to be these days. Or maybe it's the sight of the aforementioned wobbly bits in harsh daylight that puts her off! Title: Re:Problems accessing site?? Post by: Steve Pyro on August 29, 2003, 08:38:30 pm Yes, gave up after numerous attempts on Wednesday morning 27th. I kept getting the 'site not found' stuff (using IE6).
I have 500k ADSL so it usually flys along. Title: Re:Problems accessing site?? Post by: Ruptured Duck Motorsport on August 29, 2003, 09:15:31 pm I too have had probs with accessing CA in the AMs mostly. We had a similar issue with DR - was an American hosting company who decided that they did their maintence at "quiet" times - well, quiet when the US are in bed... >:(
Title: Re:Problems accessing site?? Post by: Brian(Liverpool boys) on August 30, 2003, 05:34:29 pm Liverpool boys as well, both Ian and I, thought it may have been Mr Moderator, tampering or Gilles, down loading a massive what to wear at the swimming pool file.
But no problems from Thursday evening. Brian Title: Re:Problems accessing site?? Post by: pretzel on August 30, 2003, 08:01:25 pm Me too......Mostly in the mornings when I log on at work, but OK when I get home and try again at night. Title: Re:Problems accessing site?? Post by: Russ on September 01, 2003, 10:44:19 am I just assumed it was our cyber cops trying to tell me I'd waisted enough works time on the site... Seems ok for me this morning. Do you know what the problem was Smokie? (sorry to risk an IT related technical thread...) Title: Re:Problems accessing site?? HTH. Title: Re:Problems accessing site?? Post by: Steve Pyro on September 01, 2003, 02:29:32 pm You need to download the approved patch fix. But watch out with the glue on your fingers as it's wicked stuff. ;)

Post by: Ruptured Duck Motorsport on September 02, 2003, 09:43:46 am CA has been alright now for a while...!
We got that pi**ed off with downtime at Dreamracers when hosted with Burlee (now Interland) we are in the middle of moving to OneandOne (http://oneandone.co.uk/xml/init?k_id=2978008) who so far seem damn good, support have been helpful and it is cheapish too (but you get what you pay for).
