When did a current GP driver last compete at LM? Title: Re: Good news for Peugeot Post by: Barry on February 09, 2009, 09:18:48 pm Swopping Bourdais for JV is a result for Peugeot, Brabham has got to be an asset as well.
Title: Re: Good news for Peugeot Post by: geoffd on February 10, 2009, 09:04:16 am Trouble is, putting a current F1 driver in a car is gonna cause problems, firstly he'll want a refuel and new tyres after about 30 minutes, and drive off 15 seconds after arriving in the pits, then 2 hours after the race has started he'll fly off home ;D
Great news for Brabs though, great bloke always ready to chat, and a great chance of that overall win. Title: Re: Good news for Peugeot Post by: chop456 on February 10, 2009, 09:07:40 am When did a current GP driver last compete at LM? Herbert? There must be one more recently, but I can't think of them. Title: Re: Good news for Peugeot Post by: mgmark on February 10, 2009, 10:56:49 pm Alan McNish?
MG Mark Title: Re: Good news for Peugeot Post by: Kpy on February 10, 2009, 11:58:41 pm Alan McNish only raced Grands Prix in 2002. The following year he was a Renault F1 test driver. He was Toyota F1 test driver in 2001. He didn't race at LM in any of those years IIRC.
So far it looks like Johnny Herbert. Title: Re: Good news for Peugeot Post by: Nordic on February 11, 2009, 05:50:50 pm Could be Eddie Irvine in 1994 when he raced for Jordan in F1 and SARD at Le mans?
Title: Re: Good news for Peugeot Post by: Martini...LB on February 11, 2009, 06:09:01 pm Alex Wurz?
>Martini... Title: Re: Good news for Peugeot Post by: Kpy on February 11, 2009, 06:40:42 pm Nice one Rup. Looks like Eddie fits the ticket. Unless anyone has a better idea.
Can't be Wurz. He won LM in 1996, and never came back (so far). He started F1 in 1997. Title: Re: Good news for Peugeot Post by: TigerSam on February 11, 2009, 06:43:32 pm Whats the betting this will be on Radio LM :D

Title: Re: Good news for Peugeot Post by: IanS on February 14, 2009, 12:36:03 am Antony Davidson or did he just F1 test drive in the same year?
Title: Re: Good news for Peugeot Post by: Kpy on February 14, 2009, 01:00:37 am Anthony Davidson only drove once at LM - in 2003. He was a test driver at BAR that year. Still looks like Eddie. Title: Re: Good news for Peugeot Post by: Werner on February 14, 2009, 09:28:13 am I also think it was Eddie. I'm sure we would have seen more active F1 Drivers at Le Mans over the years but this was simply not possible. In a lot of years the race collided the the F1 calendar, usually the GP Canada.
