Hi everyone, I've not been keeping in touch with everything here lately.  I've just been lurking to keep in touch with Debs progress...  Are there any dates set for next year yet?  Would I be right in thinking it's looking likely to be the 13th/14th June for LeMans?  QV

That seems to be general consensus at the moment Vicky.

I have been sent a Page & Moy tour brochure for next year that advertises the date as 13th/14th and nowhere does it say that this is only provisional.

I think the ACO are announcing the dates on November 15th

The test day date is correct, but the race dates quoted are the 13 and 14 June.

Good news indeed. I'll advise Mrs U that she now has permission to plan other early Summer activities.

One must get one's priorities right. Must book the ferry before they up the prices.

Speedferries have just mailed me offering a 10 trip voucher for £250 (or 6 for £168). Offer valid till 3 Nov. £50 return- can't be bad! I think these tickets would have 2 year expiry, so you could get 2009 and 2010 from them! You'd have to book early and make sure you didn't miss the boat though...

Without checking this years small print, in previous years if you were carrying a roof load, and were overheight, the tickets could not be used.

I believe you can book overheight in advance, for an additional fee. Just like you can book over-length - which we failed to do one year and got bounced on arrival.

Does the Classic and the LM Story alternate?

The ACO confirmed today that the 2009 Le Mans 24 Hours will be held on the weekend of the 13th & 14th of June, with the test day taking place on May 31st.

There will also be a test weekend for LMS entrants on the Bugatti Circuit on April 22nd & 23rd.

I've just booked outbound on th 11th 8.00 and back 15th at 18.45 but it's now up to £72.00

Well the Melans are now booked up for the 2300, 11th June from Portsmouth to Le Harve back on the 1700 from Le Harve to Portsmouth (LDLines)!  Price before dates confirmed were £62 each based on 5 in the Audi...  We've paid £82 now the dates are confirmed!  What a fecking liberty!!

At least you can divide it by 10, so it is still only 8 per melan, sounds reasonable to me :P
