Title: Shelsley Walsh Post by: pretzel on August 10, 2003, 05:41:04 pm A number of us have posted threads about historic motor racing venues under threat from developers etc.
May I add another one to the list. Shelsley Walsh hillclimb in Worcestershire. This is the oldest motorsport venue in the world and is under threat of closure if the trustees are unable to get a renewal of their lease. I, like many others support many forms of motorsport as well as enjoying the spectacle of Le Mans year in year out, and have enjoyed many a day at this hillclimb venue. Go to this address to find out a bit more about the appeal: http://www.shelsleytrust.valtex.co.uk/donations.asp I have made a small donation as a token of my appreciation of this venue. Maybe some others will be like minded. Please note I have no connection whatsoever with the trustees etc. - just bringing it to everyones attention as a fan of all things motorsport. I hoped to race there next year!
It is a wounderfull old place, reminded me of a vicars tea party with race cars. Mind you it was a VSCC event...... |
