Ho lordy, looks like having tried their hand at single seaters and been less than impressive, the Mansell clan are looking at Sportscars having done a some testing in one as reported above.

What price all three of them in a car next year at Le Mans?

A connection to Zytek and the ALMs is rumoured.

Obviously impressed with Tom Dunstans move over to Sportscars. Lets hope that just like in the Formula BMW's years ago that they stay behind him!

Mansells plan Petit Le Mans outing

Nigel Mansell has revealed that he is in negotiations to enter Petit Le Mans with his two sons later this season.

He and elder son Leo set the quickest time of their first test of a Le Mans prototype at Estoril last week and Nigel says an all-Mansell line-up for the event at Road Atlanta in October is a possibility.

"It's all down to finance," he said. "There are a lot of opportunities, but we will have to sit down and see what support is available for what programme."

Atlantic Championship racer Leo, 23, set a fastest lap of 1:27.9 at Estoril, in Chamberlain Synergy's Lola-AER B06/10. Former world champion Nigel's best effort was just a tenth slower, equalling the time set by Jamie Campbell-Walter in the Creation-AIM CA07.

"This shows there's life in the old dog yet," said Mansell Sr, 54. "I'm also thrilled with Leo's speed. I never dreamed that we would be competitive straight out of the box.

"This has brought back some fantastic memories for me. These prototypes remind me of Formula One cars of the late 80s and early 90s."

Mansell's younger son, Greg, was also present at Estoril but did not drive because he is still recovering from a concussion he sustained in an Atlantic crash at Mont-Tremblant last month.

In a recent Motor Sport interview, longtime Lotus team manager Peter Warr gives his opinion of Nigel.  Its fricking priceless!  As far as I'm concerned Nigel can fall into a great black hole and never be heard from again.  Just what we need to screw up a great race meeting, that whiny jerk, and his two brats at Road Atlanta...
Last thing we need to hear is his pissing & moaning all over again, he burned his bridges over here along time ago.  For Christ's sake, don't we have enough spoiled, wealthy kiddies who think that because their old man drove racing cars well, they can too?

I'll give you, Michael and Marco (see my above post regarding spoiled brats who think they're racers as well) are as bad as a Mansell.  With Mario, the only thing that ever got on my nerves was the fact that he would NEVER admit that he made a mistake, no matter how obvious it was, it was always the other guys fault.
Hell, you guys keep the Brummy and his brats craged up there, we'll look after the sons-of-Super Whop.
