I know what my reply will say. And it will get posted. Title: Re: Le Mans Survey Post by: termietermite on July 03, 2008, 06:25:11 pm It's interesting to see the high percentage of Sports Car enthusiasts in France vs F1, compared to the Brits (and the other countries in the survey for that matter).
Title: Re: Le Mans Survey Post by: Buddha on July 03, 2008, 06:27:48 pm Hi All
This is excellent and I will use my very best French to reply (therefore best use English). Are you aware if they have organised a counselling service to help them cope with the replies? Buddha Title: Re: Le Mans Survey Post by: Leftie on July 03, 2008, 11:52:46 pm It's a pity their survey didn't include the %age amount of discontentment among those attending the race on being pi**ed about with camping sites allotted to them.
Perhaps they would begin to listen if everyone cancelled!! :( but , then again they wouldn't, would they? Title: Re: Le Mans Survey Post by: Lord Pig-Pen on July 04, 2008, 12:15:01 am Hmmm ???
Title: Re: Le Mans Survey Post by: Andy Zarse on July 04, 2008, 12:23:28 am Self-congratulatory rubbish. Personally I'd say the survey was a complete waste of time. Why not conduct a proper customer satisfaction survey into the ACO? Maybe they'd realise the answers they got would tell them they're a bunch of total idiots who couldn't run a piss up in a brasserie. >:(

Orgy/Brothel comes to mind. Title: Re: Le Mans Survey Post by: Rusty on July 04, 2008, 12:28:30 am french, hmmm...c**ts
Title: Re: Le Mans Survey Post by: Rusty on July 04, 2008, 12:34:24 am Perhaps they should also run a customer satisfaction survey on Crecy, Agincourt, WW1,WW2 and also Vietnam. That would also be interesting.
Title: Re: Le Mans Survey Post by: Leftie on July 04, 2008, 12:35:34 am french, hmmm...c**ts I never try to call a male one of those, as they have a use. However, I suspect that 'de Management' of the ACO is male, all the rest are of the fairer sex (relatively). So if they are so pi**ed of with us Brits and keep buggering us about (pardon the expression) is it because we dont chat them up and take them behind the woodshed and give them a good rogering? Title: Re: Le Mans Survey Post by: Leftie on July 04, 2008, 12:40:01 am Perhaps they should also run a customer satisfaction survey on Crecy, Agincourt, WW1,WW2 and also Vietnam. Title: Re: Le Mans Survey Post by: Andy Zarse on July 04, 2008, 12:59:44 am Cruel, so cruel... :( :(
Yet fair! :D Title: Re: Le Mans Survey Post by: Rusty on July 04, 2008, 01:00:14 am ahhhh, I feel slightly better now ;D
Title: Re: Le Mans Survey Post by: Leftie on July 04, 2008, 01:04:24 am ahhhh, I feel slightly better now ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Reminds me of Bread/ French. At least with bread you can make soldiers!!! Title: Re: Le Mans Survey Post by: Rusty on July 04, 2008, 01:23:39 am Ah, that reminds of my mum when she used to make me boiled egg and soldiers when I was a little nipper in the late fifties, I couldn't stand the f**k*ng white then !!!! I STILL CAN"T NOW !
Title: Re: Le Mans Survey Post by: Lord Pig-Pen on July 04, 2008, 01:25:55 am Fine posting SIR!
Title: Re: Le Mans Survey Post by: Rusty on July 04, 2008, 01:27:18 am Now, cheese dreams were a different thing, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. If you don't know what they are then you haven't lived.
Title: Re: Le Mans Survey Post by: Lord Steve on July 04, 2008, 07:48:43 am Are they a bit like Salmon Dreams but without the salmon?
And with cheese? Title: Re: Le Mans Survey Post by: oldtimer on July 04, 2008, 02:42:09 pm I don't know about anybody else who reads this site, but from time to time I get thoroughly pis*ed off with all the puerile criticism aimed in the general direction of the French and in particular those within France associated with the organisation of the race (I thought) we all loved.
Whatever their faults - and no I am not foolish enough to believe they are perfect - at least the ACO take the trouble to stage the race for us. I would like to see any racing club in the UK do better. If you don't like it and you can't stop whingeing about it don't fuc*ing come next time. I am sure the place would be better without you. >:( Title: Re: Le Mans Survey Post by: SteveZarse on July 04, 2008, 03:12:42 pm I think you'll find it's just a bit of fun. Having said that I'm not convinced you'll find anyone here who thinks their organisation in certain areas could use a smidgen of improvement so that people don't get messed around/kept in the dark until the last minute etc. To quote Lord PigPen, they do suffer from "sub-standard paperwork".
And it was hilarious to see Peugeot surrendering to Audi... Title: Re: Le Mans Survey Post by: garyfrogeye on July 04, 2008, 10:11:32 pm Ah, by comparison, the organisational tour de force who's name is The British GP at Silverstone. And such good value too. ::)
Title: Re: Le Mans Survey Post by: Perdu on July 05, 2008, 12:27:32 am Ah, by comparison, the organisational tour de force who's name is The British GP at Silverstone. And such good value too. ::) Ah yes! The organisational tour de force that sent me my Silverstone classics club pass with the car's registration number on the document that is car specific and cannot get you in unless it is displayed How about CRA3178 I had to send it back today and hope they get it right for a fortnight's time which doesn't alter the basic fact that the ACO may well (OK they really do!) run the best Sports Car racing on any so far discovered planet, but Oldtimer's feelings notwithstanding, have the organisational skills and interest in learning anything year to year of a myopic goldfish. Nothing counts with them, club membership, time of booking or anything else by the look of things.... And fan-base loyalty? Don't make me shrug in a vaguely Gallic manner ::) Title: Re: Le Mans Survey Post by: Andy Zarse on July 05, 2008, 11:35:02 am I have to disagree with Oldtimer's view that we shouldn't criticise the ACO. My view is they are utterly beyond parody. Their refusal to even communicate with or listen to their customers smacks of inherent arrogance. I sent a polite email to them three times last year (well I think it was polite, it was based on one written by the francophile Termie), to complain about the level of theft on the campsites and pathetic private security. As a customer of 21 years standing you'd have thought I'd get the courtesy of a reply, even if was simply to tell me to go kiss my derriere. Guess what? Sod all....
The ACO is run by rude pompous self-deluded flanneurs who deserve every single slagging off they get. I'm sure we could write a dissertation on their failings, but in summary I reckon they are a bunch of f**k*ng w**k*rs. Title: Re: Le Mans Survey Post by: Buddha on July 07, 2008, 05:58:36 pm Hey, here's another one. ;D absolutely brilliant - are there more of these?? Title: Re: Le Mans Survey Post by: Lazy B'stard on July 07, 2008, 06:15:21 pm Although I agree with you on the piss poor quality of service from the ACO, but every year I stand at Tetre Rouge in the early hours with beer in one hand and chips et mayo in t'other and smile contentedly and marvel at it all- you can say what you like about the French, but it would never happen back home. Not a bloody chance! I like it just as it is.

I have always tried to be polite on this forum but to be honest I agree with Andy 100%. Us little people get shunted about while the corporates get the cream. Title: Re: Le Mans Survey Post by: Buddha on July 10, 2008, 01:28:28 pm If more people voted with their custom (i.e. go elsewhere) then they would soon be forced to listen.
Title: Re: Le Mans Survey Post by: Kpy on July 10, 2008, 02:38:08 pm If more people voted with their custom (i.e. go elsewhere) then they would soon be forced to listen. With a crowd of 258,500 this year, as against around 200,000 at the turn of the millenium, that would take some organizing. And where is this "elsewhere" that you would go to for the greatest sportscar race in the world? Title: Re: Le Mans Survey Post by: Buddha on July 14, 2008, 04:58:19 pm I never said it would be easy, and maybe my point was a little too subtle, but basically I am saying if we dont like it we dont have to go, but we do and we choose to work around the problems.
Anyway, that little dwarf in charge of F1 would probably suggest taking it to Eurodisney (as he is doing with the French F1 GP). Buddha |
