Title: CA Salop meet : August
Post by: termietermite on June 24, 2008, 10:29:11 am
Following a nosalgic thread about beer a while back, AZ and Delboy both reminded me last week that we'd discussed doing this and perhaps combining it with a Hill climb.

I'll be around on Sunday 10th (which we could combine with Loton) or Saturday 16th which we could combine with the Peter Collins Commemoration meeting at Shelsley Walsh (OK not quite Salop but near enough for us to do both?)

What does the team think?

Can't make any 100% promises just yet but all things being equal it could be a giggle.

No hurry as far as I am concerned as I will be there regardless.  Let's see what gives nearer the time.

Errrrrrrrrrrm, it's a slang expression for the type of girl that the President of the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile likes to spend his Friday afternoons with. Amateur variety.

Whereas you might expect a salopette to be a junior version, but it's one of these ...

She could come from anywhere, I guess.

As if you didn't know:
Shropshire (pronounced /ˈʃrɒpʃɪɚ/, /-ʃɚ/), alternatively known as Salop[6] or abbreviated Shrops,[7] is a county in the West Midlands region of England. It borders Wales to the west.

The Northern Festival of Speed has pretty much banged on the head the idea of a meet on Sunday 10th August.  I'm going to do Shelsley Walsh on Saturday 16th then propose to head back to my "digs" in Church Stretton in the evening via the Plough at Wistanstow (home of the Woods Brewery) for a few pints and a nosh.

Anybody care to join me?

I'd love to, but I doubt I'll be around I'm afraid. I guess I could send my brother if that's any good, as he lives only a few miles away.

"I guess I could send my brother IN-LAW  if that's any good, as he lives only a few miles away."

And I used to think he owned shares in the Plough, the amount of time he spent in there in earlier times

I'll came back later Termie

depends on the gaffer, as you'd expect  ::)
