Title: Anyone going by eurostar? Post by: 20vmk2_dub on June 11, 2008, 11:44:12 am I know this sort of goes against the whole grain of what le mans is about (i.e not going by car) but is anyone heading off to le mans and taking it easy with eurostar?
And yes I do plan to actually drive next year! Title: Re: Anyone going by eurostar? Post by: SmithA on June 11, 2008, 11:59:32 am not this year but have done in the past

Mike(Liverpool Boys), his brother & me are flying (from Glasgow & Leeds) into CDG & catching the TGV to Le Mans tomorrow. And yes I do plan to actually drive next year! IMHO the how you get there is not as quite as important as being there 8). Ade Title: Re: Anyone going by eurostar? Ade [/quote] Quite right. Title: Re: Anyone going by eurostar? Post by: jpchenet on June 11, 2008, 02:55:15 pm Absolutely!!
What I di think is important though is when you get there. I'm realy struggling with leaving this late this year. But there are only so many holidays days from work and having had 6 off to spend 10 days in Florida/Sebring I can't really complain! Title: Re: Anyone going by eurostar? Post by: Hubertus C on June 11, 2008, 02:55:36 pm I'm taking the TGV from Paris this year, usually I join some others by car, but this seems to be a fairly easy way to get to Le Mans. It's quite expensive too... (€ 198 return ticket from Maastricht (NL) to Le Mans via Brussel and Paris).
I find Eurostar from London to Brussels (and Paris) the easiest way to travel from / to the UK and you don't have to stand in line to check-in / collect your luggage. Title: Re: Anyone going by eurostar? Post by: Lord Steve on June 17, 2008, 08:08:17 pm I'm thinking seriously about the Leeds - Paris CDG (by air) then TGV to Le Mans for next year. Flights looked reasonable this year but I couldn't figure out how to book the TGV as their website didn't seem to accept bookings more than 7 days in advance.
Has anyone any advice on this modus transportandum as we are determined to do it that way next year. Travel agent? Steve Title: Re: Anyone going by eurostar? Post by: Dark Warrior on June 17, 2008, 08:16:28 pm Hi Steve
Myself and my group went down on the Eurostar and then TGV this year... I can recommend it... The TGV took 50 mins or so from Paris... It cost c£110 return (going from St Pancras to Paris then from Paris to Le Mans) You can only book tickets 3 months in advance... Regards The Dark Warrior Title: Re: Anyone going by eurostar?
