Just gone out and brought a copy of Autosport. This is the only issue I buy during the year, as I have every Le Mans Guide going back about 15 years. I will not be bothering again. Total rubbish.
I know all about the CA Dummies guide, and have already downloaded & donated (great work guys), but I just could not resist a look at what the country's major motor sport magazine has produced. Tosh Tosh Tosh.
If anyone else is considering buying a copy, don't do it. Just DON'T.
What am I doing, I'm not even going this year!!!
Enjoy your time in France, and enjoy the CA Dummies Guide. Save three quid by not buying the Autosport guide and have a Grand Manier Crape for me instead.
Cheers

It may, however, have other uses.

This would once again make the Autosport guide an essential item when packing for Le Mans, but I think you could buy something softer stronger and much much longer for less £3.

totally agree and have you checked their web site recently, it does not even feature LM from what I glanced at

the only autosport item i buy is the little deal at LM where you get the bag, t shirt and radio etc......... reason being i usually need a clean Tshirt and a new bag to carry my lunch to work in :)

I did notice that the CA guide still lists the Autosport guide as being something you should consider taking.
-
Probably for the reason I noted earlier! ::)

It astounds me that so few of the mags make any mention of LM at all. The number of us that enthuse about the greatest race on earth, attending or otherwise must exceed the readership of most rags. perhaps there should be a LM quarterly. Published by CA?
The info on our site is extensive, fresh and interesting, trouble is, that with so many threads it can be easy to miss something of importance.
So how about it? A monthly on-line review of all of the best bits, or perhaps a quarterly on line mag?

Le Mans Racing Mag is the highlight of my month. Brilliant publication. It's in French of course but nevertheless the pics are great even if you can't understand the text. How come this is sustainable in France but not in Britain?
I agree though, some editorial stuff on CA would be good - and was one of the plans for the committee way back when.

As one who can't follow every thread, (real work to do unfortunately) the idea of a monthly catch-up is great. There is plenty of news throughout the year to keep it interesting, even if it dropped to every two months over winter.
I would love to see such a thing. However, before I am volunteered for this job, I don't have the time or skill to do it justice. The very fact that such a service would be useful to me, should count me out as I don't have time to read all the threads. So what we need is to find is someone to whom it would be no benefit at all. They would be the ideal candidate to create the 'Catch-up News' thread. ;D
Cheers HTB!

For a start, I plan to do a little summary of this year's race. My idea is that this should go into next year's CA guide. The idea came when I was writing the story about Rollcentre. I think that a summary of previous year's race would be quite a useful addition to the guide (for those too drunk to follow, the ones that missed the race and the newbies). Unfortunately, there was not enough time to do that for the 2007 race because the article about Rollcentre proved to be time consuming enough and I started far too late.

That would be a great start.
P.S. I loved the Rollcentre feature. I find it so hard to find decent info from rollcentre on the web. There PR is terrible. Where did you get all the info from?
Cheers HTB!
