Title: Newhaven-Dieppe Sunday 8th 7.30pm evening crossing
Post by: Leftie on June 06, 2008, 12:58:42 am
Following on from LPP's posting on another thread.

Who is going on this crossing?

We are staying in a B2B in Dieppe that night as usual. Very cheap and comfortable. To get an early start to LM.

Frigging glad we aint going via Dover though. besides the M20 being closed, the main road to the port is full of diversions.

If you are on the above ferry, you can't miss me, I'll be this years CA shirt.

Hmm, if this is true may have to alter my journey times :(

Having said that we use the M2 / A2 route

May sound like a stupid question now, but why drive all that way when you live 15 mins from Pompey?
Must be easier isnt it?

Cost!-  Brittany Pirates are charging three times the price of Transmanche so it is worth driving to Newhaven

Yep same for us, with our numbers being down to 12 we needed to find the cheapest crossing, it turned out to be less than £400 for 1 Trany van, 1 VW Transporter camper and 1 TR4, 2 4 berth cabins both ways in that as well.

M20 was closed to park cross channel lorries on while Dover was closed. Should be open now.

In Dover on the approaches to the port, there are / were diversions in place for major works.
