Title: New forum Post by: Mark 2006 Lemons Gang on July 21, 2003, 10:07:11 am How about putting the "who's going in what" forum back ...?
??? Ta Mark 2003 Lemons Gang Title: Re:New forum Post by: Andy Zarse on July 21, 2003, 11:55:54 am No one used it very much in the latter days of the old site. Maybe just start a new thread in General Discussion if you are going in a vehicle of note. Smokie?
Title: Re:New forum Post by: smokie on July 21, 2003, 02:22:05 pm Good idea, shall we leave it a bit though?
Remind me in 2004... :) Title: Re:New forum Post by: Gilles on July 21, 2003, 10:05:17 pm How about putting the "who's going in what" forum back ...? ??? Ta Mark 2003 Lemons Gang With Historic this september, ELMS in november, PQ, the 24h and the Classic, the real question is "who is going when ?" ;) Title: Re:New forum Post by: Andy Zarse on July 22, 2003, 11:48:53 am Certainly no chance of me being at the LM historics in Sept. I am fairly sure this date clashes with the Goodwood Revival , which must be considered a massively superior event. Darling, everyone who's anyone in sportscars will be in Glorious Goodwood that weekend. I understand Bell, Moss, Piper, Sutees, Needell, Herbert, Hales, Green, Sytner and many others are already booked and scheduled to drive.
Very bad planning on the part of the ACO if you ask me. But whats new about that?? Title: Re:New forum Post by: jpchenet on July 22, 2003, 12:16:25 pm I agree Andy. You really would have thought that they could have liased to ensure there were no clashes.
Let's wait and see. They'll probably set one of the ELMS series races next year on the same date as an ALMS race!! ::) Title: Re:New forum Post by: Marky Stylus on July 22, 2003, 01:27:41 pm How about putting the "who's going in what" forum back ...? ??? Ta Mark 2003 Lemons Gang With Historic this september, ELMS in november, PQ, the 24h and the Classic, the real question is "who is going when ?" ;) Is the Le Mans Classic on again this year, or are you talking about 2004?? Sorry if I am being dim, but I thought the Classis was running again until 2004?? Chars, Mark Title: Re:New forum Post by: Andy Zarse on July 22, 2003, 02:36:36 pm Is the Le Mans Classic on again this year, or are you talking about 2004?? Sorry if I am being dim, but I thought the Classis was running again until 2004?? Yes and no Mark! You are right, no Classic til 2004. The Historic is different from the Classic and is best termed as "Classic Lite". It is only being run on the very poor Bugatti curcuit, with a smaller field. So there won't be all the stars and cars there, as per the Classic. Hardly worth bothering with, IMO. And as I say, it ridiculously seems to clash with Goodwood. I know where I will be! I don't know where I'll be, probably too self-proud to leave Europe and expatriate a weekend-long in your archipel ! Title: Re:New forum Post by: Andy Zarse on July 23, 2003, 11:48:05 am Gilles. You are most welcome to visit our perfidious archepelego. It's not all like Bedfordshire you know!
If you want to come to the Revival, I could put you up for the night, as I live fairly close by. There are even a few spare free tickets flying about. I will be there on the Sunday and a load of us are going in fancy dress, sad bastards that we are. So get your arse up to Caen, jump on the ferry as a foot passenger and enjoy one of the highlights of the motorsport calendar IMO. NB Portsmouth to Goodwood is only 30 minutes or so. And you could be back in France by 06.00 Monday morning. Title: Re:New forum Post by: BigH on July 23, 2003, 12:06:19 pm Gilles,
I would echo Andy's comments. For me, the revival is the best motor racing fixture in the UK, you'd be crazy to miss it, the atmosphere is absolutely unique, and possibly a little bonkers as well. It will probably confirm most of what you think of us roast-beefs. See you there! H Title: Re:New forum Post by: Gilles on July 23, 2003, 01:07:36 pm it would appear as a stupid question but waht exactly are the dates of Beau Bois ?? I'm even too lazy to check on the web 8)
Title: Re:New forum Post by: Barry on July 23, 2003, 01:12:36 pm Gilles
Goodwood Revival is from 5th to 7th September. Title: Re:New forum Post by: Andy Zarse on July 23, 2003, 04:31:29 pm Thanks Barry. When is the Historic at LM? Is it the same w/e?
Title: Re:New forum Post by: Gilles on July 23, 2003, 05:32:16 pm So I won't be able to go to Goodwood because of European Summer sessions in the South-West of France in les Landes along the Sea...
... Historic may be in late september. Do you need the adress of the ACO website to check ;) ?? Title: Re:New forum Post by: Andy Zarse on July 23, 2003, 06:07:09 pm So I won't be able to go to Goodwood because of European Summer sessions in the South-West of France in les Landes along the Sea... Is this a French National holiday Gilles? If so you should all come to Goodwood instead of the usual stampede to the atlantic coast resorts, La Baule etc. If it's the Casino you'd miss then there is a dodgy one in Portsmouth I think. Title: Re:New forum Post by: Gilles on July 23, 2003, 10:59:08 pm Sorry I promised to go to that summer session, and as it's a promise I made to a girl, I never try to miss it (the promise)...
... but I gonna be there next year ! Title: Re:New forum Post by: Kpy on July 24, 2003, 11:43:25 pm The September LM races are on 20/21 Sept. They do not conflict with the Goodwood revival.
You can find the current details on www.lemans.org Title: Re:New forum Post by: Andy Zarse on July 25, 2003, 11:43:04 am The September LM races are on 20/21 Sept. They do not conflict with the Goodwood revival. You can find the current details on www.lemans.org Regretably however, it clashes with my very important, landmark birthday. Why-oh-why do the fools at the ACO not check these things out before blundering ahead with their stupid events? Will they never learn? Title: Re:New forum Post by: IanB on July 26, 2003, 06:17:46 pm Andy,
Liverpool boys would love to come to your 21st Title: Re:New forum Post by: Gilles on July 27, 2003, 01:07:29 am Andy, Liverpool boys would love to come to your 21st I could want too... Title: Re:New forum Post by: Andy Zarse on July 28, 2003, 11:22:35 am 21st? Fluck me! I feel like I was born in about 1763. You must all be gerontophiliacs.
