Kev, Marks and sparks always seem to have a better rate than the high street and banks. Open on a Sunday also.

The Post Office just came 3rd last in Which survey. First 3 - Chequepoint (http://www.chequepoint.com), ICE (http://www.iceplc.com) and SAGA (http://www.saga.co.uk), followed by Travelex (http://www.travelex.com). (Dare I say SAGA seems appropriate for most of you guys  ;D )

Anybody who has a Nationwide account gets bank rate, and no charges, if they use thier cards in the machines here.  Best exchange rate going by far.

The rates are all over the place though.  1.272 on Saturday and 1.263 at the end of business yesterday.

But the moral is definitely that if you travel abroad a lot, then a Nationwide account - if only just for this purpose - can save you a bomb over time.  (No, I don't work for them.)

You are not kidding.  It is going to be a budget race this year.  Still, look on the bright side - I have my tickets and the bus into town stops outside my house and costs the princly sum of 1.2€ a trip so if all else fails, I'll just pop the bivvie in a rucksack and get to the circuit that way. ;D
