Anyone care to take an educated guess on the dates for next year??

I reckon 13/14 June 2009. (24th weekend of the year)

I concur with FS on this, as it means me missing my 31st aniversary and it will annoy herindorz.

So we are now back from this years and onto planning next year!!!!! Need to know the dates so I can number 1! book them off work and number 2 start harrassing brittany ferries!!!!

Well, going by the 24th weeekend rule, it will be the weekend of the 13th and 14th.
Don't think it's ever been as early as the 6th/7th in the recent years!

Check out when fathers day is. That'll be your best bet. I've never had one at home - ever.

I wish it wasn't on fathers day. Every year I get harassed by the dragon wife for denying my children (aged one and three) the pleasure of fathers day!
And I thought it was for my benefit?
This year I returned home to find only the Turkish delight left in my Thorntons selection box (surely the delight bit falls foul of some trades description law?)
More of the same next year methinks.

I didn't get a fathers day card this year, I was in the bad books as my wifes bike had a flat tyre when it was dragged from the chaos that represents my garage, however I did still get the bottles of spitfire that had already been bought :) :) :)

Father's day is on the 21st June next year. Take your pick. I know which one I'll go for though ;D

Usually always Fathers days, I can only recall a couple races dates that have been late in the month, never early.
So my bets are on 24th week 13th and 14th as well

My guess would be the usual 3rd weekend in June which will make it the 20/21st.
I've looked but I can't get a price out of Brittany Pirates that far in advance!

The ACO publish once the FIA agree the race calender. Which is usually October ish time, maybe provionsal august or septermber like this year.

With the FIA provisional F1 calendar for the 2009 season showing the 21 June as Great Britain......is that likely to have an influence on the ACO date?

Nah, the froggies won't do it twice as they like pissing us Brits off.

I was not so much suggesting that the Brtish GP would influence the date of the LM race, more the fact that any F1 race might.
I know there is no connection between LM teams and F1 teams these days, but the ACO do appear to be more co-operative with the FIA these days.
Thus, I seem to recall there was some discussion in the motorsport mags / forums last year, about the ACO and the FIA making an effort to not have an F1 snooze fest and the LM24 happening on the same weekend.
Something to do with maximising TV and spectator coverage / exposure.

I just found a 2009 booking form whch Canada Phil picked up from the ACO office. Booking deadline is 4 May 2009. Make of that what you will...
(Seems odd to issue a booking form without any indication of the date of the event...)
btw it also has the statement "Due to some works in 2009, the number of car parks and campsite places may be reduced)". And that tickets will be available for collection on production of your confirmation letter from April 2009.

Deadline for this year was 5th May - 6 weeks before the race. Applying that to next year, another pointer towards it being 13/14th June.

Apart from 1998 when the date was a week earlier because of something to do with the Coupe Du Monde, it always seems to be on the 24th weekend i.e. 13th / 14th June.
Again, apart from '98 it appears never to coincide with the French Open Tennis Finals which in 2009 will be on 6th / 7th June.
My money is on 13th / 14th.

Ever since they moved the practace day to 2 weeks before the race this has been the 1st Sunday in June with the race 2 weeks later. This would make next years race on the 20th/21st.

I think it's more the case that PQ is 2 weeks before the main event ie they set the date for the race first.

Of course there is the ALMS schedule to factor in too, as many of the teams participate in the LM24 and ALMS.
