Title: Re: Le Mans Equation Post by: Leftie on May 24, 2008, 08:30:01 pm Well you can't argue with the top man! ;) Oh yes you can. The last equation is wrong, it should be......... Deisel=Crap + <Bda. Title: Re: Le Mans Equation Post by: nopanic - neil on May 25, 2008, 12:34:45 am Well you can't argue with the top man! ;) Oh yes you can. The last equation is wrong, it should be......... Deisel=Crap + <Bda. Can you confirm something, Does Bda stand for a) British Dental Association 2) British Dyslexia Association ( which I thought was DNA) I thought notice was Dba (noice) and symbol for less was > May be what does he know, he's only Albert Einstein. There again, is only relative! ;D Title: Re: Le Mans Equation Post by: Leftie on May 25, 2008, 01:32:23 am As the Audi is bloody quiet, the noise is 'less than'.
Therefore '<' before the next part equals 'less than'. It's pointing backwards. The 'greater than' symbol '>' should be placed before that symbol, it should IIRC. I have seen it placed after, particulary within the IT industry. Luckily, old Einstein never knew the Audi. Title: Re: Le Mans Equation Post by: Leftie on May 25, 2008, 01:43:52 pm Belt Drive A series was what I always thought BDA stood for. ??? OK, forget about my Dyslexic mistake, it should be Dba. Title: Re: Le Mans Equation Post by: Christopher on May 27, 2008, 03:31:16 pm Belt Drive A series was what I always thought BDA stood for. ??? OK, forget about my Dyslexic mistake, it should be Dba. Actually, it should be dB(A) Title: Re: Le Mans Equation Post by: nopanic - neil on May 27, 2008, 03:46:35 pm Belt Drive A series was what I always thought BDA stood for. ??? OK, forget about my Dyslexic mistake, it should be Dba. Actually, it should be dB(A) pardon! ;D Title: Re: Le Mans Equation Post by: Christopher on May 27, 2008, 04:11:10 pm Belt Drive A series was what I always thought BDA stood for. ??? OK, forget about my Dyslexic mistake, it should be Dba. Actually, it should be dB(A) pardon! ;D Err. ??? I thought you were making a reference to a diesel = less noise.......no? So noise is measured in dB, and the point of reference is human perception of noise, therefore it is the A weighted scale. Or have a missed something in the original pun? Title: Re: Le Mans Equation Post by: Andy on May 27, 2008, 04:39:06 pm When it is to do with noise - dB (A) Decibels (A weighted scale) is the term used
In motorsport - dB (A) dead boring (Audi) NO NOISE |
