Title: Club Arnage Merchandise Post by: ChrisConsidine on July 14, 2003, 11:02:33 pm Club Arnage is currently looking into ways to get specialized "24 Hour" merchandise to our members. There are a variety of ways to do this. Many of these cost a considerable amount up front. One of the methods we're looking at makes a lot of sense to us. Visit: www.cafeshops.com
The upsides to this service is: 1. It would cost us nothing to start and maintain the site 2. All of the order fulfillment and shipping would be handled offsite The downsides are: 1. All orders would be in the US Dollar denominations 2. All of the orders would be shipped from the US The questions we're asking are; Would our international members order from this site if it mean incurring international shipping fees? If not, do you have any other suggestions? Please keep replies relevant to this subject. The Club Arnage Staff Title: Re:Club Arnage Merchandise Post by: wishy on July 14, 2003, 11:11:27 pm Hi Chris
It's not only the cost of shipping, but also the duty that can be incurred by our customs and exercise. I appreciate that the website mentioned is a good idea. However I believe that at this current time....probally 90% of CA'ers are Europe based. Wishy Title: Re:Club Arnage Merchandise Post by: Gilles on July 15, 2003, 11:09:05 am Good idea to organise CA merchandise...
... the sticker's adventure this year was a good idea when items are not to expensive so produce and keep the unformal spirit I like in CA. In my personal case I don't mind UK or US-based CA shop (out of shipping cost), even if I would prefer merchandise in Euro !!!! Title: Re:Club Arnage Merchandise Post by: jpchenet on July 15, 2003, 02:46:02 pm One idea Chris would be to have the goods produced and shipped from the UK/Europe but you could still have the web site hosted in the US and prices in US Dollars. Most people would probably pay by Credit Card anyway. You could even show an approximate exchange rate on the site too.
I must say, I didn't go through the whole of the web site you mentioned but my initial findings were that they were a bit on the expensive side, but I would assume you have control over pricing anyway?? Or do they add a margin afterwards?? If you are interested in looking at UK suppliers, let me know as I have a couple of good contacts in the printing industry as well as garment embroidery. Title: Re:Club Arnage Merchandise Post by: Ruptured Duck Motorsport on July 15, 2003, 02:47:56 pm I have used them for Dreamracers - if you want my opinion, I will be happy to discuss it via email
Title: Re:Club Arnage Merchandise Post by: SALEEN S7R on July 15, 2003, 06:19:33 pm Merchandise sounds like a great idea to me. Theres not enough Merchandise regarding Le Mans if u ask me. And coming from Club Arnage would only make it better.
Title: Re:Club Arnage Merchandise Post by: smokie on July 15, 2003, 06:23:21 pm Not bad for a first post, Saleen! However I've seen a fair old bit of merchandise down there...
Welcome! Title: Re:Club Arnage Merchandise Post by: Gilles on July 15, 2003, 09:50:28 pm For any CA-labellized food or beverage out of beer, I'm your guy...
... what about a special cuvee of wine that all of you could pick up when you come to le Mans, a great gift idea to return !!! Title: Re:Club Arnage Merchandise Post by: Rhino on July 15, 2003, 11:22:10 pm Bring alcohol back from Le Mans!!
Now thats an idea.... Title: Re:Club Arnage Merchandise Post by: Chrisgr31 on July 18, 2003, 03:41:46 pm Might be worth asking other sites what they do. I know some here read and/or post at pistonheads.com.
The guy that owns and runs that (petrolted) does a damned good job and sells merchandise which arrives on a next day delivery basis. My suspicion is that he has had to shell out money first to buy the stock though. Maybe you should either ask regulars here to put up a small; amount of capital to buy the initial stock, or get some ideas of pricing then ask the regulars to order what they want. The profits could be used them to order stock in. Not sure whether the stickers made a profit, but something along that sort of line would seem ideal. Might be better to order items gradually. After all if you suddenly announce you have T-shirts, Polo Shirts, Sweatshirts, Fleeces, Flags, mugs in stock I am unlikely to order one of everything. If however you say you say you have fleeces this month I will probably buy one. If Polo Shirts come in next month I am likely to buy one etc. Title: Re:Club Arnage Merchandise Post by: Gilles on July 18, 2003, 05:14:17 pm good idea to ask the regular to buy a pre-stock and dispatch after. In such a system, I can make the dispatch for continental Europe to allow Europeans to pay in Euro without currency rate problems !
Other idea of merchandise is Ticket Holder, a must-have in Le Mans. Title: Re:Club Arnage Merchandise Post by: powermite on July 22, 2003, 09:44:13 pm CA w a n k ing sock. How can a man manage without one

Title: Re:Club Arnage Merchandise Post by: Robbo on July 29, 2003, 07:38:18 pm My group "Self Preservation Society " would be happy to add car stickers , hence my little comments in the section " hi from le mans " Merchandise for CA .
Are these stickers around . Only two of my lot are interested in T shirts or polo's and they would have a couple each . We looked at it and have some on order . we looked at www.tshirts4u.co.uk . They seem to be able to offer really goods prices if you have an advanced order and want big numbers . They worked out for us at £10 each , which is about right now a days. Title: Re:Club Arnage Merchandise Post by: jpchenet on July 29, 2003, 10:13:26 pm Robbo
We do still have some Car Window Stickers. They are approx 24cm x 6.5cm and have the CA logo and white text of "REAL MEN DO IT FOR 24 HOURS" on a blue background. :) 5 for a five including P&P. Let me know by private message if you wnat some!! Title: Re:Club Arnage Merchandise Post by: Danster on July 30, 2003, 03:40:40 pm Mine's still proudly displayed in the back screen of my car! ;D And very good quality it is too...
Title: Re:Club Arnage Merchandise Post by: pretzel on July 31, 2003, 02:19:01 pm Mine's still proudly displayed in the back screen of my car! ;D And very good quality it is too... Mine too.... Mind you we didn't see any at all (except for Wishywashyman's) during our trip over to La Sarthe. Must be someting to do with using a less popular route we take and the fact we weren't staying on campsite. I'm sure we would have seen some if we had stayed on MB. JP - how many did you sell in the end? A personal opinion on the stickers - there's not a lot of contrast between the text and logo and the blue background. Makes it difficult to pick out unless you're up close behind. That must be why all those BMW drivers are always on my bootlid on the motorway. Title: Re:Club Arnage Merchandise Post by: Danster on July 31, 2003, 03:32:42 pm I only saw one when I was there, on the Saturday morning there was a black PT Cruiser driving back from the Carrefour with one in the rear screen. It does get commented on quite a bit, so I always direct people to the site.
I agree though, unless you're close up it is hard to read... Title: Re:Club Arnage Merchandise Post by: Brian(Liverpool boys) on July 31, 2003, 04:24:25 pm Hi, we have graphics printed that adhered to the car's body work,no problem getting them off on a hot sunny day, this year we had 3 inch letters in Algerian text, in blue, that said Club Arnarge. After speaking with Chris C, we have ordered next years, to read Club Arnarge. Com.
It amazed us how many people on MB, and at various places that we stopped at passed comment on the graphics. That could be another line for CA, gear. Take care. Brian. Title: Re:Club Arnage Merchandise Post by: mstreet on July 31, 2003, 05:06:56 pm Who did the printing of the graphics?....I might have a need of such a printer.......grateful for contact details

Com boys had white lettering on their cars , which i found out you can from a sign writer and are cheap -ish .
I have been quoted £2 per letter in Portsmouth . (thats installed as well ) Title: Re:Club Arnage Merchandise Post by: pretzel on August 28, 2003, 11:53:08 pm 2 quid a letter ??? - that makes the graphics on Brians' car picture above add up to about £56, not including the Michelin 'Bibendums' Sounds a lot to me.
I was thinking about some external car lettering for next year but not at that price. Surely you jest? Title: Re:Club Arnage Merchandise Post by: Brian(Liverpool boys) on August 30, 2003, 05:37:12 pm Pretz, I will ask my supplier to qoute as I say it was a favour for a favour so I do not know the exact cost.
Take care. Brian. Title: Re:Club Arnage Merchandise Post by: Robbo SPS on September 01, 2003, 11:46:26 pm 2 quid a letter ??? - that makes the graphics on Brians' car picture above add up to about £56, not including the Michelin 'Bibendums' Sounds a lot to me. I was thinking about some external car lettering for next year but not at that price. Surely you jest? No , unfortunatly not , its because i was a major customer , and letters are fiddly , aparently . It is on the main road and didnt do much diggin , but if you want ROBBO on the car , £10 isnt that bad ,and my co driver RICH or WOOKIE isnt too bad either . If i get a better deal i will post the price. Maybe better once i order a few stickers ?? Title: Re:Club Arnage Merchandise Post by: pretzel on September 02, 2003, 09:11:12 am Be interested to hear the price. Did you have a choice of font, letter size etc. etc?
Title: Re:Club Arnage Merchandise Post by: Ruptured Duck Motorsport on September 02, 2003, 09:48:15 am Just had a big vinyl banner printed for Dreamracers to take to the track day, BTCC, Le Mans and various other events, and it was cheap - there were cheaper options too, but didnt go for the My Mums Own Vinyl, went for sommat a bit better.
If anyone wants the contact details for them, give us a PM or email... Title: Re:Club Arnage Merchandise Post by: Mr. Rick on September 02, 2003, 01:22:53 pm Had a large vinyl banner done professionally up here in Peterborough a few years back for MB, cost was £110 for a banner about 6' x 2' - for both sides!!!!!
Title: Re:Club Arnage Merchandise Post by: Mr. Rick on September 02, 2003, 01:39:27 pm Forgot to mention just now that when I have had "URL" stickers produced for the backs of race cars and roadcars (about 2' wide x couple of inches - individual letters .. you know the type I mean, see photo below), they have varied in cost depending on the supplier at the time but the most expensive was £15 for two, cheapest £3 each!

Mugs that is. Look preyty good dont you think. As i said earlier i had them made up as a special type thank youfor those who have helped me out with tickets , This site , Sky Tv at LM this year and STICKERS , lots of STICKERS. So. out of the 12 Me, Le Mans SPS , Smokie , Grand Fromage , Gilles , Steve Brown , Brian Stressful, Dream Racers and Rick. Which makes 9 in total. I will hand these around when i arrive at LM. The last 3 can be sold unless Smokie/ Grand Fromage have people that are un-sung hero's on this site, i havent seen Chris Constadine on for a while , but i believe he keeps the site ticking over . Any sensible suggestions please. Please note the final decison rests with me as i bought them. But should anyone want them and Grand fromage is happy for them to be made up, i can get more but at £5 each advanced orders only and hand delivered to Le Mans , not posted out. I will be in Maison Blanche campsite and easy to find.
