Title: New car Post by: mike(liverpool boys) on April 21, 2008, 06:44:26 pm Thats me got tired of the A3 breaking down and spending money on it.
The latest problem is 5th gear has gone missing and the clutch is slipping. My brothers had a look at it and thinks it could have been in a fairly big accident in the past as the inner wings seem damaged. So i've turned to the dark side and managed to get a staight swap at a ford dealer on a 06 plate Fiesta ST with only 5000 miles on the clock. Its not quite the quality of the Audi but hopefully it wont break and if it does it wont cost both arms and legs to sort. It looks like i might have the tuning bug again though as im already looking at engine parts ::) Mike Title: Re: New car Post by: Lord Pig-Pen on April 21, 2008, 09:57:05 pm As the Ozzies say... only milk and juice comes in 2 litres ;D

"About 6 years ago, my wife and I had our Min-Pin, Tillie, in our Acura CL with us. I was driving, and Tillie was standing on my wife's lap with her head out the passenger window. I pulled in to park at McDonalds, and when I pulled the keys out of the ignition, I accidentally bumped the 'Arm' button on the alarm remote. The problem is, my alarm has the window interface, so when I armed it, it automatically rolled the window up - squishing Tillie's neck and throat in the process. I hear my wife scream and turn to see our pooch dangling by her neck from the top of the passenger door and flailing around like a flag in a hurricane. I stared in disbelief for a split-second - horrified at the cartoonish events that were unfolding right in front of my eyes. And before I can react, Tillie lets loose a squirty $hit that shoots, slow motion like, accross the cabin, plastering the front of my shirt pretty good. So here I am in the Micky Dees parking lot, covered in crap, fumbling with the keys, wifey screaming bloodly murder in the passenger seat, with a half decapitated dog sticking out the window, flopping around for dear life and shooting diarreha from her a$$ cannon in rapid fire succession. Somehow in all the confusion, I managed to get the keys back into the ignition and roll the window down. Released from her deathlock, she fell back and collapsed into the wife's lap, gasping for air. I never will forget the look on Tillie's face... her eyes popping out of her head and her tongue dangling listlessly to one side... her expression was a mix of 'Im alive!' and 'WTF just happened?' and 'I can has Cheezeburger now?' Eventually Tillie caught her breath, and after a few minutes was back to her normal self. I think the cheesburger helped. My wife and I, however, have been tramatized for life..." "...flopping around for dear life and shooting diarreha from her a$$ cannon in rapid fire succession..." Diarreha??? >:( ??? Whilst I'm sure we're all glad the poor pooch was okay, I have no sympathy for the storyteller. Perhaps having his shirt covered in liquid excrement will remind him how to spell the word correctly. I will not rest until everyone on CA knows how to spell it, repeat after me it's:- D I A R R H O E A Now write it out twenty times, make sure it's learned, marked and inwardly digested. Not literally though. I will be going round at LM and if anyone fails the spelling test then they owe me a beer, so woe betide you all. I confidently predict free drink all weekend! Title: Re: New car Post by: BigH on April 23, 2008, 12:57:08 pm Quote shooting diarreha from her a$$ cannon Hmm, I assumed that was the name of his girlfriend, they'll shoot you as soon as look at you in that part of the world. Anyway,i was giving the A3 a bit of welly before i get rid of it on friday and caught this old car going fairly slow but had a mighty powerful sound. He was holding me up though so at the 1st chance i got i made an attempt to overtake. PP Title: Re: New car Post by: JT on April 24, 2008, 04:35:06 pm My understanding from Andrew, the disconsolate chappie sitting on the front wing, who owns the car is that it is a Phantom I limousine from 1931 that was rebodied in the fifties. There was apparently a matching trailer at one point. It is a much travelled old bus, travelling from North Norfolk to Brighton every year to enable a bunch of drunks to watch the vintage car run. Much like the race at Le Sarthe, this excursion lasts from Friday morning through to Monday evening just to watch three or four hours worth of old motors. The Rolls also featured at the Goodwood Revival in 2005 & 2006, latterly being part of the display for the Saturday night ball. With all the bottles of champagne floating about that night really did hurt.

The Rhinefield House thread will probably only be of use to myself and Leftie ... unless any other CA members have knowledge of the famous New Forest Hotel.
If anyone has any info please say now as Leftie and I are on the case to fill in the missing info this chap needs. PS Why is there not a seperate thread for this topic? |
