Title: Best place to stay Post by: SteveM5 on April 21, 2008, 03:53:17 pm Hi,
I have got to get some camping passes, we were going to stay on Basejour with mates, but they are no longer going. We have not got any passes, We stopped on Basejour last year and it wasn't a bad camp, but a bit of a walk and Most annoying was a right royal pain in the ar*e to get out of - Traffic. Year before we stopped in Blue Nord, that was better for traffic but ammenities were poor. We would like to see more burnouts etc on the evenings, be fairly close to track/grandstand, and not be caught in excessive traffic when leaving on sunday (within reason I know there is going to be a lot, but Basejour was ridiculos - 3 hours to get off the camp site) Ideas? Also brucie bonus, the danes have a beer marquee opposite.

Anywhere else? Title: Re: Best place to stay Post by: DelBoy on April 21, 2008, 04:38:42 pm We are aiming to dock in France at 9am ish on thursday, which isn't really early enough! Anywhere else? True - similarly for any of the sites that have un-numbered pitches!! Your only chance at this late stage is to look on the 'Sell or Swap' board here, Fleabay, or try the agencies - the latter two requiring you to shell out lots of shekels!! As a last resort, try the Rotunda when you get to LM to see if they have any 'returned' tickets. Write a memo to yourself: when you are at LM THIS year, book for NEXT year. I should have been more clear. We are looking to get onto a decent site, not too fussed about an enclosure. le-Mans is about the experience, why have a bar selling cold beer, when you can go the supermarket get a couple of chunks of ice, put it in the cool box with some cold water and hey presto - cold beer! Where would be the best place to stay (Regardless of whther we can get tickets or have to pay a premium), we want: Farly good facilities - a Shi*er, Shower and some grass. Not too many or ideally no chav's Close enough to exit roads Able to get out to supermarkets on practice/race day Good atmosphere Thanks Steve |
