Title: Re: Interesting Car Registration Numbers Post by: Lord Pig-Pen on March 28, 2008, 12:45:25 am I followed a very new and shiny Merc with no badges but 4 big exhausts off the M27 the other day......... Plate RO51 LEE. I imagine that it will be at The Great Dorset Steam Fair.... behind the nasty old crones fortune telling caravan. Still cool though.
I wonder who owns ANU5, C11NTS has been sold, PEN15 was owned by a bike racer in the 80's, P16 PEN and P19 PEN are sold, there is a horrid fat ginger bird in Pompey with G1NGA on her ford KA, Paul Dainels owns MAG1C... Max Bygraves turned down fortunes from Merc for MB1... an old brickie that I know scrapped a BSA Bantam with 1UP, my dad could have had MK2 for £50 back in the 60's but didnt... I would go on but I dont want to bore people..... and finally... at the auctions in Southampton I watched a polo coupe go for £200 with A968 POR and didnt bid cos I was scared ??? was only 19 and had the cash on me. A few years later, on the ferry back from LM, there was a 968 Club Sport in the times car ads with that number... "available by negotation". TWAT >:( Is LEF71E still out there? Title: Re: Interesting Car Registration Numbers Post by: Lord Pig-Pen on March 28, 2008, 01:01:14 am That reminds me... Scrap Dealer Red Bentley Turbo in Bournemouth pulled over by the police.......plate B16 WAD.
and a pic I saw somewhere of husbands and wifes cars in a driveway.... SUC1N next to A9"NOB. Anymore for anymore oh... and a Datsun 160Jsss coupe that was local... SAF1R... sure Safir made GT40 replicas back along? My Turquoise Austin 1100 had HOT 769L and a Honda Acty Van we had had RFX 50X, would have saved my parents alot of ££ if they had put that on retention and added a bit of tape... but I have REX21K on the VW which is cool as it was for my 21st. Looked at a micra for my ex years back... the girl selling was hot as hot hot hot.. and the reg had VAJ in it. strange I remember that ;D Seen a few MUF... but only on 70's stuff. and finally... looked after by a garage in ashley and used on classic runs round europe and the like............. XK150... with WOG1 Very PC ;D Title: Re: Interesting Car Registration Numbers Post by: Steve Pyro on March 28, 2008, 01:02:59 am FAL 1C, once owned by John Entwistle.

Title: Re: Interesting Car Registration Numbers Post by: Black Granny on March 28, 2008, 09:51:33 am I remember back in the early 80's at Le Mans the Rothman Porsche team were using a Porsche 928S as their runaround car (or it may have been Bells car I'm not sure) which had the registration THE 928S.
For those who know (or should that now be remember) Gales Ales from Horndean there should be a number plate somewhere which reads HSB 5X. SB was the registration for one of the Scottish regions and there are other HSB plates around. Title: Re: Interesting Car Registration Numbers Post by: mike(liverpool boys) on March 28, 2008, 10:26:47 am Also at LMS Silverstone was a yellow corvette with BL03 JOB. Title: Re: Interesting Car Registration Numbers Post by: Lorry on March 28, 2008, 02:07:22 pm I liked AC 427. I met the owner, he'd sold the Cobra and put it on a Clio Williams. That must be a hanging offence.
I can understand that you might have to get rid of the Cobra, but why keep the plate Title: Re: Interesting Car Registration Numbers Post by: Integra Jim B on March 28, 2008, 02:41:16 pm My Dad's old rep used to have a Nissan Sylvia I think and was often pulled over by the Police. Title: Re: Interesting Car Registration Numbers Post by: Martini...LB on March 28, 2008, 06:29:51 pm The fact that we do not have letters only numbers in Guernsey has lead to quite a few interesting numbers including 911 on an old original 911 also beemers with 318 , 325, pugs with 206 etc the Bailiff gets to use a car with 1 on it and the Governor uses cars with G1 and G2 (only time we have letters) his official chauffeur driven car does not have any number.
Oh and as the advert (HSBC I think) a chinese chap does have No 8 he also has 88, 888 and 8888. >Martini.. I live in the county of Limburg/Weilburg which is indicated by LM So possible Le Mans related plates are easy to get as you have one or two random letters and 1 to 3 digits LM-GT 1 (Corvette Z06) LM-GT 2 (Ferrari F430 Scuderia) LM-HA 24 (Houx Annexe - Carthago Megaliner camping car) Just have to win the lottery and luckily I've seen none of the GT plates yet - most of the people take their initials and year of birth... Title: Re: Interesting Car Registration Numbers Post by: Brad Zarse on March 31, 2008, 01:30:43 pm there was a red 911 going around in wokingham until about 4 years ago with B19 NOB as the plate...
