Title: Promoting Club Arnage
Post by: DelBoy on March 25, 2008, 07:12:58 pm
The proprietor of 1st-tickets (also a member of Club Arnage) has offered to promote CA via a 'flier' which would be included in the ticket pack sent out to all the agency's clients.

This would promote CA to many people who may not know about it - potentially increasing the club's membership base, and it would also promote the Guide, which raises funds for CA’s charities so in turn it should boost the number of donations made.

An attempt has been made to design the flier, and currently looks like this:

It is hoped that there is a CA'er out there with the necessary experience and flair who would be willing to develop and improve this prototype, and also, via suitable contacts, to get it professionally printed at an advantageous cost to CA.  A minimum of 1000 copies would be required.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

think we can get these sorted for Lemans????

What.......the dummies??   :-X :-X

Kev, if these are to be a goer, they need to designed, printed and shipped in the next 4 weeks max.

I've had a quote from a printer near me (he's not a 'contact' as such), and he can do them in plenty of time, but I think his price could be bettered, hence the call for help.

Has anyone got any comments (good or bad!!) about the format/wording of the flier itself??  Fully open to suggestions.

Del

If 'The Brethren' cannot do it, he's a better designer than me, I will sort it.  ;)
I can probably get a 1000 printed for FREE  ;D As I have a tame printer (see Sebring Banners)

I would also suggest printing two sides, if a digital printer is used this normally costs very little more anyway, did I say FREE

Whoever does it will need those images also I would suggest the use of the image from the back of the T shirts, to help associate the product (CA).

Your call guys, if The Brethren does produce the artwork the printing offer still applies.

Motive... to further the cause.  Ulterior motive... to make Smokie like me again after my little discrepancy.

The MkII version of the flier is shown below, but this is not yet the final proof.  All credit goes to JDS for this.

I'm looking for a 'better' pic of the gathering at the 'poo bar - the one used was taken off the calendar (from a pdf file) and is p1ss-poor resolution - I'm also not convinced that a crowd of CA'ers waving 'V' signs is appropriate for this document.  Who has the original, and/or any other 'poo bar gatherings, or indeed any pics with a large crowd of CA'ers.

Also looking for a pic of the Dunlop bridge which could be cropped to 'letter box' size.

Oh, so It's OK for Steve McQueen to do it then. That's double standards that is ::)

Absolutly fantastic, Martin.  How long would be needed from final proof to shipping??

Would you be willing to arrange the packing & carriage and I'll send you a chq to cover costs.  Obviously, I'll send you the ship to address.

Hi, messed around a bit more. Although the pic has the V signs, I think that in the wider format it looks a little more 'fun' ... ??? Anyhow, I prefer this format, even if not the picture ... (sorry, not clever enough to get it as a pic, so you'll have to just download it or get Del to repost it!)

Well, as far as I can see it looks good. It looks like a club newsletter as opposed to an agency style newsletter, which is to a certain extent quite refreshing, this is not meant as a derogatory comment.

I would suggest two things, at the top where it says 'The oldest and most established...'  I would turn over the 'Le' part of Le Mans. Secondly as one of the aims is to promote the guide how about listing the sections etc with perhaps a couple of lines from each section on the back and perhaps have a thumbnail of the front cover.

Thats all

There you go John.

Martin, When you say 'turn over the Le', I assume you mean have it on the same line as the 'Mans' part.

Hi Del
Yes that is right, just a typesetter thing... it could even be turned over after the word 'dedicated' to balance the two lines better.
