did'nt see this coming. Auntie has reclaimed the rights to show the GP's from 2009.
Will the chain and Murry walker be back?
-
Great news indeed, no more advert's just at the wrong moment.... or every 5 minutes during the buildup....
Lets hope they don't take James Allen....
-
That's refreshing news. Lets just pray that they don't bring that 'Cock' James Allen with it.

What you all said.

Good news indeed... the adverts are infuriating. Though, to be fair, in recent years they have provided considerably more interest than the processional racing. Maybe this year will be better...
-
Just read it, great news, hopefully the "cock" will have at P45 with his flight ticket home after the Brazilian GP
-
It would appear that The Cock has indeed finally been stopped.
[Thatcher mode on] Rejoice! Just rejoice at that news![/Thatcher mode off]
-
I might start watching it again now then as at the moment the “cock” sends me to sleep
-
Good news indeed.
I'm not a supporter of James Allan, but on the basis that Murray probably won't do more than the odd guest appearance, who do you think should/will do it?
That's a question for all the cock bashers :D

According to the Times this morning it looks as though the Hamster is in line for the lead role

Is that a good thing? F1 does Top Gear.
-
I'd say Brundle and Blundell :D
Btw: who's the cock? ??? James Allen?

Oh yes

easy going cheeky chappy front man who is known to the wider beeb audience and in particular younger viewers IMHO

Or if Top Gear does F1.
If the BBC is serious about F1 then it needs to be serious about it's coverage. Hammond is a great TV personality but has no backgroud in the sport. Brundle is great and knows what he is talking about and hopefully will transfer across. As for Blundell, he mangles the language too much for my taste and as for the Cock, well I think it's already been said - good riddance (hopefully). My dream commentary partnership would be Brundle and John Watson, both knowledgable and been there and done that kind of guys, perhaps with Hindy giving the overview. In the end though I guess that there will be a showbiz approach to satisfy the masses and motorsport enthusiasts will be left with what they have always been in recent years - not enough for them.
-
Wrong time to change jobs, I just left the BBC Thursday, But I will however try and get some insider knowledge from a couple of petrol heads I had worked with.
Keep Brundell on the commentry
Put Hamster in the pits and on the grid.
-
Peter, where did you see the reports of the TG team appearances for F1?
Is there a reasonably priced F1 car?
-
Following on from Peter's post as he mentions good 'ole 'Mac.
How about starting with 'Dreams', then progress to ' Go your Own Way' and even 'Don't Stop.
By the end, the Beeb agreed £200m with the poisoned dwarf with no 'competitive tendering'!!!!
It is paramount now we get back the updated version of the theme 'The Chain' (but LOUDER and LONGER) this timehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Xz_i4yCLik (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Xz_i4yCLik)
Otherwise it is wasted money - it is our lisense fee after all.

But he doesn't even like F1 ???
-
Im sure i could even manage to sit through a few hours of F1 for the cash he'll be getting ::)
-
Peter, cheers for the article, interesting, but allsleft is to watch that space.
-
Bernie and Max wont have a say as to commentry or production team, as this will be a BC issue, but given both their clout would it surprise you if they did! It wouldn't me!
Wot a scream for readingor film coverage the at crashing would make for reading or veiwing, once word of mouth got around the veiwing rating would rise a fair bit. As for the popularity stakes of the trio, the gests of said parties would love em to death or spit theout like pork grissle.

Represenations re. the cock, and how much of a cock he is may be made directly to the BBC here:-
