R1 (the widow maker)  ::)

Not really a widow maker, as the bikes handling is wonderful.

To qualify as a widow maker the machine must have a design flaw that makes it dangerous IMHO.

ie Kawasaki 500 Triple's, which don't like going round corners, or Lockheed Starfighters, which didn't seem to like flying very much.

Yam TZ750 - Now thats a widow maker.

R1 - Lovely bike. One of my mates got his is September (he had the first of the 08 paint jobs or so he's told )

The only bad bit with all these new bikes ( super sports 1000cc plus ) is you need to ride them 40 mins at a time or be a tiny person. At 6'1" i can ride them for long.

Lucky Sod. I'm still tempted to supercharge mine

 Lockheed Starfighters, which didn't seem to like flying very much.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the Starfighter, a media created myth, the real issue was poorly trained crews let loose on it.

Ground or flight?

500 triple had a fine chassis :o, rear wheel wanted to go straight on when you turned the bike into a corner.
