Must say i'm getting excited again already, good old FS just mailed me re my bleu tickets he is so kindly picking up at PQ's. Ferries booked, hotels in rouen booked for the way home, i even dug out my sleeping bag at the weekend to give it an airing.

all i need now is sun cream as it will be hot hot hot this year  8)

Yep, planning started in earnest now. Campervan going over (just a tiny bit in advance) this weekend (but it has a few other jobs to do there in the meantime!), new tent arrived this morning and full scale planning meeting called for next week - roll on June (although got a dry-run in May with the MotoGP).

You lot are a bit keen, starting now when there's 3 months to go.

Mind you, airing the sleeping bag for 3 months is probably a good idea, but brush the mud off it first

Are you accepting visitors from KN into the contest too - just dug out my fishing gear tonight for other reasons, so seems silly not to pack it too ...

Normally its me who is totally unprepared.... and usually the transport has something horrid go wrong with it 2 days before leaving. "Water pump for a Nissan 300c on a Saturday Sir... you must be having a laugh"
Probably silly to mention that... but a reserve banger will be waiting in the wings this year. Dont worry, it will be equally as shite as the Chavalier ;D

Come on over... should be fun.
Perdu said that the Carp were rolling on the surface in evenings of previous years so should still be there and Elvis caught some years back, so lets have a go.
I have some BBQ flavour Spam from OZ that should be killer bait. Worth taking a spinner or two as well incase there are Perch.
You used to be able to buy maggies from French supermarkets, but its been years since I last fished over there so not sure what is available now. Sweetcorn could also be a goer... as will Halibut pellets.

Should be fun, something to do in the afternoons to slow the consumption that leads to evenings finishing too early du to over refreshment ;) 8 days in a field is a while.... so lets get on it... unless we get booted off by some official that thinks we are going to be eating them! YUK!

Barbless hooks, no keepnets and I will take a landing net and mat... incase of anything plump. Biggies dont deserve to be mauled around and dumped on hard ground.

Never thought we would be discussing fishing on CA ;D

oh... and has Mrs JDS got any of those Mega pain killers left (Lady PP says thanks again) that she had in Holland?? Sure they will be required at some point over the week  ;)

Should your suggestion that you just texted me come about..... I am sure that there will be a healthy sized crowd come to watch.... fishing wont be so kin boring then... and no one will be looking at a float! ;D

Weena this is not  a problem

fisherman always get lost in space

if you stand looking at the water
with the Dunlop bridge at your back
then turn right and walk to the road down inside the campsite

you can then cross said road and come and be entertained by us instead

 ;D

Some old git reversed into me Saturday and bent the slam panel

He didn’t want to get the insurance involved so I got the part £36 from vauxhalls & labour is £100 ish to fit it so bout £150 all in (painted) and he now wants the insurance involved, so months of problems are ahead of me and as it’s a old car it will be touch and go if they repair it :(

I hate that, i had a car written off many years ago when some old duffer backed into my parked car, he bent the bumper which meant my pop up lights wouldn't go up and down, and the bumper had to be shipped from japan so cost more than the car was worth so they wrote the car off. I then spent months arguing to get the full money out of my insurance which meant i had to get a loan to buy a new car putting me well out of pocket........oh the pain of it all. I do hope yours goes well Kev, good luck.

Kev, That should knock out no probs ;) Pop along to the Ellesmere port, I'm sure one of the lads on the Astra production line could sort that out  ;D

I could bend it out but the part new is £35 from vauxhalls and I can do all the work for about £70 all in but hes started the claim on his insurance so got to get quotes as there going to fix it all up

Does the old duffer realise hes going to have to stump up the excess on his insurance?

I'd point this out to him Kev as it might save him money and you a written off motor  ???

Kev, that's nothing - i bought my mondeo thinking it was all in good condition, then about 6 months later took off the grille to brush the bugs off the radiator only to find the similar bar stoved right hard into the intercooler  :o. God only knows what it hit, a concrete post or something, but it looks like they popped a new bumper on and left it at that! Still, seems to still go ok and at least the intercooler ain't gonna fall off!  ;D ;D

I sold an R plate Honda Accord 2.2Vtec to my cousin for £350... it was a bit battle scarred with most panels dinged.
It was reversed into by a taxi driver, denting the front wing. Luckily there was a Police minibus full of coppers parked opposite so the witnesses were "credible" :police:

Through the other drivers insurance he got £1100 and to keep the car, which still drives fine and looks like most other cars in London.

Fingers crossed aye...  you could always pull the panel out so it dosnt look as bad if they send anyone out to look at it.
