MB still looking pretty horrible as the first two shots show (sorry, couldn't really get into the place though :-(
Title: Re: MB Latest Shots of Construction Work Post by: JDS on February 24, 2008, 10:45:32 am Couldn't really work out what was happening (other than storing lots of dirt and tryes) in the usual Airtrack area (opposite the BSJ entrance) but it looks a mess
Title: Re: MB Latest Shots of Construction Work Post by: JDS on February 24, 2008, 10:49:45 am Technoparc seems to have risen about 2 feet - it looks as if much of the soil they have dug out in the other works has been laid here and flattened. Looks OK, just really, really muddy (sorry, no pics as Mrs JDS started with the "have you finished taking pictures of mud yet?" comments ....).
Karting Nord looks in remarkably good condition. There are a couple of mounds of mud and some enormous potential bonfires just waiting for The Brethren to nip over one night and show them how it's done ..... ;D Title: Re: MB Latest Shots of Construction Work Post by: termietermite on February 24, 2008, 11:09:49 am I consider it MOST anti-social of you not to have popped in for a coffee/beer etc JDS!
Title: Re: MB Latest Shots of Construction Work Post by: Paddy_NL on February 24, 2008, 08:08:01 pm Hmmm, there's those same funny piles of wood like I came across in early 2005. What's that for, termie? ???
Title: Re: MB Latest Shots of Construction Work Post by: termietermite on February 24, 2008, 08:31:17 pm God knows. As there are plans for a lot more speccy bunds, I'd always assumed that all the cr*p went into them!

MB still looking pretty horrible as the first two shots show (sorry, couldn't really get into the place though :-( Bugger MB, hardly anyone is camping there. What about HA ??? Title: Re: MB Latest Shots of Construction Work Post by: JDS on February 26, 2008, 03:48:37 pm Bugger MB, hardly anyone is camping there. What about HA ??? I didn't get there due to the pain in my neck that developed half way through my scouting trip ::) However, MB is the main construction area and with the exception of the pics I posted, all the areas I passed on the way there looked OK. My reason for going was to scout KN, so mission accomplished as far as I'm concerned ;DTitle: Re: MB Latest Shots of Construction Work Post by: mike(liverpool boys) on February 26, 2008, 07:03:09 pm Bugger me! Aren't you all very glad to be coming to live with us in the verdant pastures? ;) except those who sadly wont be! Title: Re: MB Latest Shots of Construction Work Post by: Lord Pig-Pen on February 29, 2008, 02:41:28 am Now then admit it Looking forward to it very much Dear Boy.Aren't you all very glad to be coming to live with us in the verdant pastures? ;) except those who sadly wont be! We shall be bringing our Fishing gear too... I have heard that there are Carp in the pond so will do my best to find out while keeping an eye on our pitch before the troops hit HA. If there are Perch.... fine BBQ fodder ;) Shame we wont be on the same ferry out as per last year... but I have scouting duties... and cant wait to escape from the UK ;D You must pop over to Brethrensville for a nice chilled glass of dry sherry, a cucumber sandwich and some canapes one afternoon. Will all be very civilised and polite as we may have Ladies on camp. I have also developed a special Vodka... distilled in my own cellars and looking rather interesting. Roll on June PP ;D Title: Re: MB Latest Shots of Construction Work Post by: Bob U on February 29, 2008, 11:52:58 am Now then admit it Looking forward to it very much Dear Boy.Aren't you all very glad to be coming to live with us in the verdant pastures? ;) except those who sadly wont be! We shall be bringing our Fishing gear too... I have heard that there are Carp in the pond so will do my best to find out while keeping an eye on our pitch before the troops hit HA. PP ;D A few years ago you would see them rolling on the surface every evening, the lake looked as if it was full of them. I havn't noticed many for the last couple of years, well, since the arrival of the Eastern European pikeys actually. Not that I am accusing them or anything cos I have no proof and it would be racist and un PC if I did ;) Thinking about it, Felix hasn't shown up since the carp disappeared either, hhhhmmmmmm ::) Title: Re: MB Latest Shots of Construction Work Post by: Lord Pig-Pen on February 29, 2008, 08:45:40 pm If they were there... there will still be some left... hiding away in the depths. feeding on the countless green bottles on the bottom.
I have the mega bait that will tempt the most hardened of Carp............................................................. BBQ Flavour Spam from Oz! The HA Angling challlenge has begun dear boy ;D. All will be released and barbless hooks used.... cos I am nice like that! Title: Re: MB Latest Shots of Construction Work Post by: Bob U on March 11, 2008, 11:50:41 am I hope the ACO have issued fewer HA tickets, that looks like half the site has gone. I'm so glad I decided to go down 2 days earlier that usual this year. It could get a bit messy later in the week as more arrive.
Don't you just love the bloody French ::) they can't leave anything alone. Maybe if we all arrive en masse they will wave a white flag and surrender as usual. Title: Re: MB Latest Shots of Construction Work Post by: Perdu on March 11, 2008, 02:51:32 pm Bob, I hope you are taking up the "stake and cop tape" baton this year as I'm a day or so later this time round.
:police: The usual places with the usual offices would be nice! 3 or 4 cars with a gazzbo to deal with :D bill Title: Re: MB Latest Shots of Construction Work Post by: Bob U on March 11, 2008, 03:39:29 pm I'll do my best Bill. I will be there sparrow fart on Wednesday so hopefully our spot won't already have been overun by MB exiles.

Try not to Bob - all I have to do is avoid the scorched bit with the burnt out remains of a gazebo on it, and the space will still be there for you. Del Title: Re: MB Latest Shots of Construction Work Post by: chum racing on March 13, 2008, 02:01:52 pm We were in Le Mans last week for meetings with the ACO and local suppliers. Whilst there we took the opportunity of taking a closer look at the progress of works on MB.
Speaking with the ACO, the works are due to be completed by the end of March (a few weeks). The site manager also mentioned a date that was not to far away from that too. Maison Blanche is not planned to be used until the Moto GP in May, so there is a fair amount of time for the work to be completed and for grass to grow. Hopefully there will be enough time for the grass to recover before the 24 Hour race in June. As well as the laid tarmac there is a new toilet block on MB (and also another new one near T23). Entry to MB will be improved with a new roundabout. The aim of the new roundabout is to reduce the queue of trafic caused by vehicles trying to turn left into MB. So that traffic can flow freely when there are no events at the circuit, the roundabout will be in the Bleu Parking area. Work has not started yet, but is planned to be ready in advance of the 24 hour race. Here are some photos taken of the MB works showing how things have progressed. We may be down to Le Mans in April and will provide more information as we receive it from the ACO. [report] Monday I recognise those pictures These are from our visit to Le Mans to meet with the ACO and suppliers for our private campsite last week. The ACO kindly took us on a tour of the construction work around the circuit and campsites at Le Mans. Houx Annexe will be smaller this year due to the changes to the Bugatti circuit and in preparation for the new stadium, which starts shortly after this years race. There is also a new roundabout and checkpoints near Beausejour for access to Karting Nord, Technoparc, Houx and Houx Annexe. This has caused the squeeze on Karting Nord and the allocated pitches. On Bleu parking there will also be a roundabout to provide better access to Maison Blanche. This will only be used when there are events on at the circuit. The works at MB are going well and are due to finish close to the end of March. Although the campsite will not be used for the Moto 24 in April. It will however, be used for the Moto GP in May and of course the 24 Hour Race and the Classic. For those of you who don't know me. I am the owner of 1st Tickets Limited www.1st-tickets.co.uk (http://www.1st-tickets.co.uk), an official agent for the ACO and the Le Mans 24 Hour Race. Was thinking of Bleu or HA (if it's available), the biggest trouble is we'll not be arriving until late on the Friday night, so likely as not it'll be where we can rather than where we choose ..... Any suggestions? Title: Re: MB Latest Shots of Construction Work Post by: fagey on March 14, 2008, 05:51:21 pm hi all..
great fun with the remote control boats in the committee rooms!! I will be arriving fri night also.. you just go where you want to and pitch up wherever there is space.. I just find blue easier with a bike!! at least barrels of guinness float....as off to raise a glass or six in honor of our green friends in ten min 8) and it is on thread as we will be reporting back on the state of the camping ;D Title: Re: MB Latest Shots of Construction Work Post by: JDS on March 22, 2008, 08:10:08 pm Bugger MB, hardly anyone is camping there. What about HA ??? OK, sorry about the quality, weather was horrible, raining, windy & freezing cold so hardly ventured out of the van. Looks pretty much OK, lake area looked untouched and the Garage Vert works seem to be progressing OK. those of you on HA have the new tram stop a whole 30 seconds walk away too. Title: Re: MB Latest Shots of Construction Work Post by: JDS on March 22, 2008, 08:13:13 pm KN has grown more piles of old pallets - must be a good 15 potential pyres there now!! Airtrack's area seems to have lost a lot of it's tyres but also a lot of it's size too to make way for the new roundabout at the entrance to KN & Technopark.

It seems to have grown back nicely, just have to find it in between the new MB track ..... :'(
Title: Re: MB Latest Shots of Construction Work Post by: lynxd67 on May 19, 2008, 10:01:54 am Well, not exactly grown back micely. I was there last weekend for the 6 hour 50cc bike race (yes really!) and while I had the 100/300 lens on I took this shot to give you an idea:-
(http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u216/lynxd67/MaisonBlanche-1.jpg) It isn't a wide enough angle shot but I can tell you that while there is grass it is newly seeded and very sparse. You'll need mattresses because it is still settling and quite bumpy. I know they've put new drainage in but looking at it closely if it rains hard you are really going to be in a mud bath. Title: Re: MB Latest Shots of Construction Work Post by: JDS on May 19, 2008, 11:36:09 am That's closer than I got with my lens (which is what the comment was based on) - but I was in the Raccordement Tribune, still, looked nice from there !

Crikey, they've really changed it! The place where the marshall is standing is just about where The Gimp was whipped with leeks over a refridgerated coffin, before he went on and buggered a heron. It was the talk of the campsite for a while and now the spot has been reduced to a marshalls post. Typical ACO, I'll bet there's no memorial plaque or anything. >:( Title: Re: MB Latest Shots of Construction Work Post by: jpchenet on May 20, 2008, 12:04:17 pm Crikey, they've really changed it!
