Title: The In fighting in F1 Contines Post by: Nordic on November 24, 2007, 04:55:42 pm http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7109405.stm
Dave Richards has given up on a Prodrive F1 team for 2008 using a team of McLaren/Merc. Hopefully he can now turn his full attention to an Aston Martin P1 car instead of the dead end money pit that F1 has become. I hope the sponsors that would back them in their F1 adventure will continue their support in the States and give Corvette a run for their money. There's also talk of a GT2 entry instead. That would be a Vantage V8 by the way.

Spyker said the same about ALMS... Title: Re: The In fighting in F1 Contines Post by: Paddy_NL on December 05, 2007, 03:41:34 pm From f1-live.com:
Quote Prodrive not guaranteed 2009 entry - Mosley ''People submit entries and the FIA accepts or rejects'' 05/12/07 14:51 Max Mosley says Prodrive's guaranteed 2008 Formula One entry will not automatically be carried over to 2009. When announcing that the 'customer car' row had thwarted his outfit's plans to debut next year, Prodrive boss David Richards revealed that he intends to reassess the situation once a new Concorde Agreement is in effect in the future. But Mosley, who is the President of F1's governing body, has warned that the FIA will have the right to block Prodrive's plans to race either in 2009 or beyond. "There's nothing to stop them entering for 2009," the Briton said in an interview with The Paddock magazine. "In the normal course of events, Prodrive's entry would be accepted, but the situation without the Concorde Agreement is as it was before the Concorde Agreement - people submit entries and the FIA accepts or rejects them," Mosley added. Prodrive lodged a 300,000 euro deposit with the FIA when the outfit was selected from a list of potential entrants to fill the 12th and final garage slot for 2008. Mosley said Richards' company will probably not be refunded. "But that's probably it," he said of any other penalties for forgoing the 2008 entry. Mosley added: "I don't think anybody is going to go after them." Why does it seem so obvious that Mosely is following the Poisoned Dwarf in his pursuit for the big money? First the $100M fine to McLaren, and now Richards doesn't get his €300K deposit back? ??? |
