Title: Paris Final (Who is going)
Post by: rcutler on October 16, 2007, 09:13:38 pm
OK, having spoken to three members of the forum that are going and knowing of another one. Who is going?

I will arrive at about 3pm on Saturday after changing my crossing to 8am (much better).

Probably going to watch at the eiffel tower, or a pub if it is raining.

Well, I have been offered corporate hospitality to travel to Paris on Sat 20th - all expenses paid, returning on Monday evening.  I can take 2 other people with me, and I was wondering if there is any CA'er out there who is not doing anything, who could possibly put my dustbin out for me on Monday morning?

With all respect, but what's the use of that? It's like parking up at the back of Beausejour and watch the complete race on telly, not leaving the campervan :-\

LOL @ Del - I'd be closest to deal with your bin I'd imagine  ;D

Paddy - given that there are lots of folks who never leave the campsites and/or see a racecar I'd imagine it's an atmosphere thing!

Yeah, must be ;D
But I think I'd rather go to some large pub, or a rugby club in the neighborhood.

Well I will not be around to put out your dustbin but I will be around to dispose of the spare tickets you have.  ;D

Jokes from down under:

Q: What's the difference between the Wallabies, the All Blacks and a tea bag?

A: A tea bag stays in the cup longer.

Q: What is the main function of the Wallabies coach?

A: To transport the team from the hotel to the ground.

Q: What's the All Black version of a hat-trick?

A: Conceding three tries in three minutes.

Q: Why don't the Wallabies backline need pre-tour travel injections?

A: Because they never catch anything.

Q: What do the Wallabies, All Blacks and drug addicts have in common?

A: All three spend most of their time wondering where their next score will come from.

In the next edition of Chambers dictionary under 'complacent' it reads "New Zealand All Blacks, Australia Wallabies, RWC Quarter final, 2007."

The seven dwarves are down in the mines when there is a cave-in. Snow White runs to the entrance and yells down to them. In the distance a voice shouts out "New Zealand are good enough to win the World Cup." Snow White says "Well at least Dopey's alive!"

Did you hear that the Australia Post Office has had to recall their latest stamps. They had pictures of Wallabies rugby players on them. People couldn't figure out which side to spit on.

Did you hear about the NZ politician who was found dead in an All Black jersey? The police had to dress him up in women's underwear in order to save his family from the embarrassment.

Four surgeons are taking a coffee break. The first one says, "Accountants are the best to operate on because when you open them up everything inside them is numbered." The second surgeon says, "Nah, librarians are the best; everything inside them is in alphabetical order." Third surgeon says, "Try electricians everything inside them is colour-coded." The fourth one says, "I prefer Southern Hemisphere players. They're heartless, spineless, gutless and their heads and arses are interchangeable."

Q: What do you have when the All Blacks are buried up to their necks in sand?

A: Not enough sand.

Q: What do you call an Australian at the RWC final?

A: Ref.

Jules, you must hate the southern hemisphere!

I can't afford to go to Paris just to soak up the atmosphere.
So instead I will go to the Village club, relax in a large chair and soak up a few large beers.

Good luck England.

The word "typical" springs to mind Fran.  >:( >:(

I'm not too upset though as I've got a four-way bet on: England lose against Russia, Scotland to lose against Georgia, England to lose the Rugby and Hamilton not to become world champ. Well I've got the first two right and whilst I would prefer not to have a week of complete sporting misery, trousering the proceeds will partially make up for the inevitable. I just wish I'd thrown in Villa to lose to Man Unt too.  :(

Lewis Hamilton could face punishment after using two sets of wet-weather tyres during Friday's first practice session for the Brazilian Grand Prix. - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7053377.stm (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7053377.stm)

You might have 3 out of 4 if Hamilton gets penalised.

I called it! I called it! I can't tell you how delighted I am to have predicted this utter misery. A shame then that I only had a quid on it....  :-[

The other thing that makes me happy is there's no victory parade to attend. I remember four years ago, it was the first time I'd ever met JPC, Steve Brown, Gibberish, Rick Cutler and some other people who I can't remember. Just to recap the day, we met at a pub off Regent St at 11.00, drunk heavily, watched the parade go by for ten minutes, Steve and I  lunched on a packet of salted peanuts, got even drunker, went to another pub and drank the rest of the day away. Then I caught a late train home with Gibberish, whilst Steve had multiple McPisses. We eventually reached Three Bridges and dropped in at the Kebab Centre. It was shortly after this point that the pool of sick went missing. A international search for the vanishing vomit lasting several days ensued and speculation as to it's fate was rife. And to this day nobody really knows what happened to it, I still think a hungry drunken Crawleyite probably ate it.

A Prophet of Doom, That's what you are Zarse. 400 years ago you would have been burnt at the stake on Redhill Common. Witchcraft, nothing less.I don't mind you casting your evil curse on the football and F1 but there can be no excuses for involving the Rugby Final.
If, by any chance that you get your come up pence some time in the future, I will be first in line with a gallon of lead free.

Well I am back from very warm and sunny Cyprus. The hotel had ITV so I was able to watch both disasters :(. The beer was cold though so not all bad.
