Good Luck Daddy to be Dr. Sconefinger!

Being a Dr. Does that mean a home delivery?

Definitely a very civilised time of day!  And the best of luck to you, but mostly to Mrs S, and hope all goes well.  Look forward to hearing some good news later - does this mean that there will be a celebratory christening at Le Mans 2008?

Nobody congratulated me and my girlfriend on our home delivery only yesterday.

The man from Ocado said ours was one of the easiest that day and commented on our delightful choice of fresh fruit.

Good luck from us too

Good luck Simon and Mrs Simon.

You dont need the car keys yet - the babe has to learn on a scalextric before they get to drive the alfa.  Theres a 24hr Le Mans set on offer in Model Zone at the moment - you could have it all set up by the time he/she comes home.

Its a girl! Born at 11:05 this morn. Mrs S and junior doing fine. We've named her Daisy Anaïs. Absolutely thrilled and more than slightly knackered. Thanks for the kind words, I'll pass on your regards to the clan. Forgive me but I'm off for a cold one and a small blub- absolutely over the moon guys!
Catch up with all soon and yes, a christening at the poo bar would be special!
Cheers again

Many congratulations! Nice to hear (read) all is fine. Cool name too! 8)

Don't know wheather this is your first child, but in that case you must have a strange night up ahead. I remember I left the hospital after my son was born and went home by myself for (whatever was left of) the night.

When you wake up tomorrow morning, it will be the last time in your own home this quiet! ;D

Congratulations Si  ;D

Nice name (not sure what's wrong with Lola though ;) )

You know she doesn't actually have to be in LM for her Christening - we can do it virtually  ;D

Sleep well Daddy!  ;D

Hi Piglet- our first girl got the coveted name Lola, have been trying to think of a Lm related name for this one for weeks, VqDaves suggestion of Panoz was just a little too outlandish for us! ;D
Cheers Paddy, I'm enjoying the calm before the storm!

MANY CONGRATULATIONS

I know it's very difficult for the Dad, but I sincerely hope Mrs S and Daisy Anaïs are both doing well.

Daisy Courage Bentley Anaïs sounds quite good.

Just enjoy.

Well done, its always a joy when a new Le mans fan joins the world.

As for names I always thought Trete Rouge would have been the name to have for a girl, well better than Dunlop Chicane anyway.

Well done to one and all - well particularly to Mrs S and the new sprogette, as in time-honoured fashion, they did most of the work.  Not much name inspiration from the MG world I'm afraid with a rough range of C, P, J, K3, N, TA-F, A, B, C, F, Magnette and Midget to choose from.....

Many congratulations! It's only the first 18 years that are bad then it gets worse....
(Piglet will kill me for this) If all goes to plan "we" are going to be Grandparents in November!   My son we think managed to "do the deed" at our wedding in February, so I guess it's my fault and I only kissed the girl once!

So her name is Daisy Anaïs Dr Sconefinger therefore here initials are DAD'S. seems appropriate/ :)

Congrats Doc, great name for a great little girl. I wish you all the fun in the world getting to know Daisy Anaïs.

And glad you have picked a name with an accent thingy, my daughter has an accent in her name and i do enjoy getting irate at people who spell it without.

Have a drink and a cigar on me.

Congrats Sconeman,
And the best of luck, it's a special time and no mistake, wallow in it, -  I'll bet it was the best cold one you've ever tasted!
I was just saying to young Two-inch-SU the other day that he seems to have grown up so quickly.

LM related names is easy, plus a play on words AND is also a ladies name, Portia, or Porcia for Porsche.  Simply really, how could anyone object to such a beautiful name.

As you'll remember from your classics at school, Portia was used twice by the Bard in The Merchant Of Venice and Julius Caesar. ;D

Yeh, but God burnt up the desert in his Triumph!

Hi guys. What a nice suprise to get home from another long stint at the Hospital to find more kind words- you really are a great bunch and both the missus, the little ones and I are feeling the love! Cheers you guys- it means a lot :-*
All is well with Daisy and Mrs S and they will be home in the morning (which pleases me because that place is so HOT!!)

Its probably not the place but I would like to say somewhere, that despite the fact everyone knocks the NHS and the powers that be, its only when you rely on the buggers that you appreciate just what a good bunch of people they are. I have been overwhelmed by the care and effort that these fantastic human beings put in - day after day.
In the ward above my wife and Daughter this evening is a Doctor, who for whatever reason decided a few weeks ago to take lives instead of saving them by driving a  burning car into the front of a packed airport. The fact that this man is being cared for, without question, shows the strength of human nature, the proffessionalism of those guys and is a wonderfull example to us all.
 Gawd bless em all!

Well, I have another evening of peace and quiet to enjoy so I think I'll have another cold one!!

I fear the storms commeth in the morrow!

Trust that, through the after effects of a cold one or two, the storms are not too stormy this morning, and that the homecoming is a good one. :)

HA HA i thought it was just the Royal Berks Hospital but it must be baby wards everywhere that are unbearably hot.

And i will second the good doctors words praising the work and staff in these places.

To Dr and Mrs Sconefinger.
Very many congratulations from us all in the Lord Steve household.
I can remember the indescribable elation when my son, Earl Jonathan Ford Pinto, was born. I went home to my little gaff in Darlo and drank "Journey Into Space" with Marks & Spencer pate on toast. Best meal I ever had!
Four years later Lady Emma Zetec Valve Gear was born.
Fact is, the last 24 (no, really) years have been the best years of my life.

Enjoy mate - girls never stop lovin' their Dads.
All the very best
Steve

Hi Guys and Gals - heres first (non gunky and red) pictures of the new arrival at 4 days old. Shes no trouble and as quiet as a mouse (so far!)

Looking forward to having a celebratory beer or six at Silverstone ;)

Not too clever at the picture up-loading thing so appologies in advance for ridiculous sizing etc.

As before, many congrats for your initial 5mins work and Mrs S's 9 months.

Hope little Daisey is doing well.

However, the title of thread bring back memories of Peter Cook & Dudley Moore. I've been looking for it on the net but todate to no avail.

Just enjoy sleeping at your desk and waking when someone coughs or the 'phone rings.

Perhaps it's the wrong one for this occasion!.

How about a bit of Gilbert N Sullivan?

"The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things:
Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--
Of cabbages--and kings--
And why the sea is boiling hot--
And whether pigs have wings."
