Stayed on Camping Bausejour which was OK, but no showers was a pain.  Which sites would you recommend.  Beausejour seemed pretty central.

Actually Beause wotsit is a bit out of the way.
The hard core prefer Maison Blanche for its trackside position, Others prefer Bleu for the or Houx

I prefer Expo, cos of the cow sheds.

Try a different camp every year until you find one you like.

We take our own generator, fridge, camp showers and water containers, so pretty comfortable.

To start Le Mans is a bout parting with out washing or sleeping.  Then when you get the hang of it, you can do it with a hot shower and a cold beer.

Which is nice

Agree with the assessement of Beasejour - it is pretty much out of the way (other than for the Porsche curves) and is a goodly hike up to the village and beyond.   Other sites:

Houx - used to camp there until '96 - now with marked pitches and power supply and home to many motorhomes.   Good access to village and equidistant to Ford striaght and Tetre Rouge.

Houx Annexe - there in '97 and '98 - similar access to Houx, but more towards Tetre Rouge.   Seems to be pretty swamped with owners clubs these days.

Karting Nord - been there in '01, '02 and '03 - similar to Houx Annexe, without the owners clubs and opposite the Ford straight - reasonable access to pit village and a 20-30 minute hike to Tetre Rouge.   Good atmosphere and good access to the roads out to Arnage and Mulsanne.

Haven't stayed on Maison Blanche, Tetre Rouge but the benefits of those above and these three are that they are pretty much adjacent to the track - all of the others seem to be a bit of a hike.
