Title: Streaming Online Coverage?
Post by: Ruptured Duck Motorsport on June 16, 2007, 04:28:40 pm
Anyone come across any steaming online video for this years event?

Just wondering if I have enough bandwidth for Radio Le Mans and video too....

There's a thread on pistonheads le mans forum which gives a link to an online broadcast of most of the race. (It uses the tvu player, Neilsie has a link to it on the ghost town thread on here as well)

I can confirm that it works for me at home.

Edited to say;-

Good luck

for rtl coverage, look here

go to your internet explorer settings -> connection -> proxy settings
 proxy: 130.37.198.244
 port: 3128
click OK, close the dialog, close IE
 then open windows media player
 tools -> options...
 then, 'network'
under streaming proxy settings enter the same proxy as above for all services. close dialogue. close WMP.
 then go to http://www.rtl.nl/sport/rtl_gp/rtlgp/
 click on "RTL GP livestream"
a new window opens, containing the player window and RTL content
then it will request the DRM license, showing a pop up
 click ok/accept
it will get the license from the geolocation service
this is now done through the dutch proxy you have entered in IE and WMP
once it has done so and you can play the stream (or shows it loading), you should revert your proxy settings to the way they were before
now you can also open http://www.rtl.nl/(channel=service,p...nt.xml/800.wvx in a dedicated WMP instance

works for me with ie 7 + WMP11 or firefox.

The speed coverage does have its drawbacks. I've just seen some frankly disturbing footage of Jacques Villeneuve singing. With his eyes closed.

Thankfully the audio coverage is being provided by RLM

finding the speed coverage is dire in comparison to the RTL feed - RTL quality is far superior, and Speed is seems to have a time delay plus its got bloody ads!

I couldn't make RTL work unfortunately. Ah well, it won't matter next year.
