Title: Pool Situation?
Post by: Queen Vic of the Melans on May 20, 2007, 11:21:22 am
Just wondered if there is any news of if pools are going to be allowed back this year?  Any ideas?

I think they are still banned, there was a mention on a thread recently.

See this thread:-

Or read the ACO statement:-

Dear Sir,

Swimming pool will be forbidden ( not allowed ) in all the campsites, car parks and generale enclosure of the circuit.

Best regards,

We will be leaving ours at Home, although if there is no sign up, we are off to Carrefor to buy another one!

So what will you do with it if you unpack it start fill it and get pounced on by the Swimming pool Police?
OK they are not that expensive if the only place you use it is Le Mans it's a bit of a waste.

Willing to take the risk. Carrying it all the way is a waste as it is heavy. They are still nearly twice the price in the UK, so when I get back I will be able to sell it for what i paid for.

Don't forget the signs didn't go up till Friday last year, but the 'pool police' were active all week (ask Smokie   ;D ;D)

I would put money on them being banned, and the ban policed.

I am convinced the ban last year was a space management issue, and the water shortage was an excuse/smokescreen.

Signs were cetainly up at Bleu nord when I arrived Wednesday early am.

Depending on the size of the pool, you could always use on of those big old family frame tents (cut the main section of the roof off) as screening so pool police wont see it. As long as the sides are above head height.

I thought they used a helicopter as well last year to see any. Better leave the roof on and don't splash to loudly ;D

Thought Le Mans was a good excuse not to wash for a few days

I CERTAINLY WOULD!

But then the problem would be what to do with the "poolinapickup" afterwards... 8)
