Title: Wedding party....
Post by: Piglet on May 08, 2007, 10:08:31 pm
As we didn't manage to invite many of you nice people to our wedding and then we couldn't make Sebring we are planning to have a bit of a Wedding bash at LM  ;D.

We were thinking of doing something on say the Tuesday night so that we don't get in the way of some of the other stuff that happens (like the DfH party!).   I know it's a bit early in the week for some folks but with night quali etc., I'm not sure we can do anything later in the week.

How does Tuesday work for everyone?

 ;D

Hmm that might be a thought - we've sponsored a barrel already  ;D

Trouble is the Groom will be working until 10ish but I guess that might not be too much of a problem?

Thanks, same here, expect to be on site by mid afternoon Tuesday, possibly earlier depending on the drive down and whether we stop off at scrutineering.

What a fantastic idea Piglet!
I was half way down to Moss Bros before I remembered that I was going to be otherwise engaged, probably in a hedge somewhere.
It'll be a party within a party,  - I reckon you really should be dressed in your wedding outfit, with your betrothed having to constantly re-enact the moment of proposal, meanwhile, everyone else could be solemnly swearing.
Party Poppers, "Here comes the Bride", maybe a punch up if we're lucky. Aahh, weddings... - I'll raise a glass to you!

I'd been visualising this as a traditional wedding party and it's not a hard to see what's going to happen. Of course I'm there in a ill-fitting out of date Terylene suit, propping up the bar with some other Zarses and Dutch guests. Fran and Termie are in the mode of drunken aunts, grooving away to the Pizza Hut song played by a sallow DJ. JPC, Robspot, Soring Rhino and son and a few others have stuffed their faces full at the buffet, leaving nothing for the other guests. No doubt the Gimp has his eye on a bridesmaid or two, with a prospect to retiring to his hotel room, or possibly the carpark, and indulging them in his black arts against a wheely bin. Traditional has it that for no apparent reason a drunken brawl involving the best man ensues towards the end of the evening, resulting in the wedding cake stuck to the ceiling. Whilst I have no desire to see this tradition ended, it's not fair to ruin the big day, so can everyone just cool it, right, I'm appalled at such behaviour from member of CA...

Shabba!

Andy - sounds just like the real wedding in Feb ;D

I'm liking the sound of this and will take nominations and/or volunteers for bridesmaids.....we're missing a gorilla though - I believe that's the traditionfor motorsport weddings  ;D

Not wishing to limit my contribution to the event, could I also volunteer for the part of prop forward in the scrum for catching the bouquet?   8)

I've tried to avoid posting but now the subject of "bouquet" has appeared….You will note that there are no pictures of this at the first rendition of the wedding.  The bride in her “excitement” through the dammed thing so high that none of the multitude of snappers manage to catch the bride and bouquet in the same frame……..

http://www.gtphotosport.com/weddingpicsjg/DSC_7817.html and we just had a report form NASA that a UFB (Unidentified Flying Bouquet) was spotted over the south coast…..

Dont worry KK - I am always happy to take on a challenge!

Looks like you might have brought down a few passing seagulls tho - so not entirely a waste of effort!   :o

OK, it's looking like Thursday is a better day and Paddy, if we could take up the offer of your pitch that would be great.  ;D

I'll talk to KK about whether he can manage Thursday and then PM Paddy about beer money  ;D

Thursday gets my vote, I can do most of the work Wednesday afternoon and then get some night shots "in the can" with not much to do friday until after lunch and I'll be finished by about the time the first driver gets back to the square.

Wahaay!!
I'll be there, in our usual spot, about 40m from the DFH chaps. I may need to be sitting on an inner tube, but I'll ready for a cold one. - It's all I can get these days....

Blimey Keith, be careful mate, - last time I took 'some night shots in the can' I was very nearly arrested, and quite right too I suppose.
