Would love to say i will be going down in my Alfa Giulia GT Sprint again but will buckle at the last moment and take the service van down again, Ice cold beer being more important than collecting speeding tickets this year!

Ignition system dependant, I will again be a passenger in Co-Pilot Dick's Triumph TR6 (my cobra is taking another year's rest).

We'll be accompanied by the usual East Anglian Cobrateers in noisy, V8 engined roadsters with no boot space  ::)

A very unglamourous VW Passat TDi, but it is not what gets you there that is important but that you are there...  Of course I might change my opinion somewhat if I came into some money and could afford something exotic  ;)

Went shot gun last year for the first time ever - never again.

Still scanning the classifieds/web/mags on a daily basis, for my ideal drive.

This thread has made me realise that things are getting close.

I can just imagine the drivers of the classics, out in their garages, fettling and tinkering.......

New comers are worrying about what to take.........

Old hands are looking forward to the repeat of their Le Mans rituals.......

Bands are looking for drummers.........

French pykies are looking forward to getting their hands on other peoples cast offs.......

Generally, everyone is looking forward to catching up with friends and having a right old laugh.

Roll on.

Yes Fages old chap you can stick your JERSEY flag up... but I will not tell you where as it is a family forum.

Saw your bit on HD ferries... good luck to them against Condor bstrds... Not good from Gsy yet a sit is all a bit late, 21.30 arrive I think. They may base a boat in Gsy next year which will be good for the early start like Emeraude used to do.

See you there mate.

Crikey H, that seat position looks a trifle awkward. Think of your poor Cowper's Gland! I'm not being funny but do you think it's a wise idea for a man of your years and with your medical history to have his balls higher than his head for days on end? You'd better get your GP's instructions translated into French, things could get quite tricky if you end up in Le Mans Hospitale Generale and Docteur Pierre's trying to extract them from half way up your lower abdomen...

Fettling? Lara, like Gary's car simply gets a check on whether there's enough oil and water (if I remember) and a quick clear out of the boot to make space for tentsanstuff!

Will be in my black Civic Type-R again I hope, went with 300 hp last year and wasn't quite enough, rebuilding the beast at the moment and will produce around 500 hp once finished, if I get it done on time.

We leave on the 12th and go straight to the Ring and then down to Le Mans on the Wednesday. My mate has a P1 and maybe an E30 M3 as well.

See you there, we are in Tecnoparc.

Correct, Steve - going downmarket this year with small tents, a decision I am already beginning to regret.  I'm getting a little long in the tooth to be sleeping that close to the ground, even the svelt 'bowling-green' turf of MB  :D :D :D

It's just that I havn't the time this year to lug the 'van down - not getting back from Greece till 6.30pm on the tuesday - I still have to get back here and back to Dover by 6.00am the following morning.

Ah well, who needs sleep - good practice for the following weekend.

Del, Decalthlon do the most excellent camp beds which work on the same principal as those fold up chairs with the cup holders - ie about 15 seconds to assemble.  OK, they are around £35 each but for old f*rts like us - a complete godsend. Their only problem is that they need a tent with a bit of height as they are about 18" (see, I even measure in old money!) off the ground all round.

Presumably when he first pulls away, the two horsepower in the back just stay where they were and are left staring at the rear of the departing trailer!

With dobbins (yes, I've done it!!) - double the time.  Without - about the same I would guess, given your tow vehicle. ;D
I should have had a nice friend for you turbo in my party.  However, my mate uses it for track days and managed to do 5 figures worth of damage!  He has now had the suspension so lowered that he can't drive it for more than a few miles on normal roads.  So he bought a V10 Tuoareg to tow it around and is bringing that instead.  Like yer do!

Not my plate. Previous owner's.

I think it'll go back to the original. I think pers/private plates can look a little pitiful, unless the are REALLY good.

Unfortunately, I don't have the money for one of those.

I'll be in my diesel Hyundai Sante Fe.  The advantage is that I won't be queueing at every petrol station, theres masses of room for fridge, tables chairs etc.  The doenside is I seem to be lugging down the tents for three friends who aren;t coming until the Friday with instructions to bung up the tents for them to save the space!

Incidentially Lidl have camping mats in today.  £4.99 to go under the airbed!

Looks like it'll be the Skoda again this year...
After the two attempts to take the Zody down..

2004: Got as far as Purley (left from Woolwich) before I lost all power and had to replace the plugs/points/plug leads, disconnect one pair of points and buy a new battery...
Then got to the service station at the start of the M23, filled up and realised that the petrol tank was split where the top and bottome were joined half way up.
Picked up a mate at Gatwick and missed the ferry at Poole by 9 Hours.
Got to Le mans after that, but split a brake hose on the way back..

2005: Didn't even get 10 miles before losing brakes again. Went down 4 up in a 1985 Camaro...
