Title: Newbury Rugby Festival, Sun 22nd
Post by: fagey on April 20, 2007, 09:23:22 am
Hi All,

If any of you are in the area on Sunday, why not pop in and give my under 9 rugby team some support as we have entered this tournament.

The kids are all up for it and will play like the demons they are despite having to be at Jersey airport at 05.30 am to get the flight to Gatwick!

We play in red shirts and black shorts, and I may even give the new CA t shirt its first airing ;D

details of the mini tournament are on their website

OK, camping fridge is on and the water is on it's way. Where on the newbury rfc club website are the details?

I should be there just before the first game.

Rick.

Cheers, Will arrive about 1030 so as to park on site and get my bearings. I will bring my SLR camera and try to get some shots but not sure if there is a ban on official looking photography as there often is.

See you in the morning.

Yes exactly, I read throught the program and noticed that there was an official photographer listed but it also said that if anyone objects to photos being taken none will be taken of that team at all!

It is a shame we live in such a society that means we are all tainted with the same brush! I thought it was innocent until proven guilty! It now seems you are guilty until proven innocent.

Well. it was a fantastic tournament, and the kids really enjoyed themselves.. they were outclassed really by teams that play these tournaments all season, but the a team got to the plate final (and just lost) and my b team got to the vase final (and also lost to a strong side), but by that time were knackered due to getting up at 4.45 am to get the flight.. so we were all proud of the little bleeders!!

I have been asked by the teams and coaches to say a very big thanks to Rick who turned up with his igloo cooler full of very cold water, it was appreciated by all and was a life saver!

He also tok some fantastic shots with his camera, and we all cant wait till i email them to the parents etc..

once again, thanks rick, and I will repay the compliment in la sarthe very soon!!
