Title: Printer
Post by: nopanic - neil on February 04, 2007, 05:10:37 pm
Advice needed please,

I need to buy a computer printer, it needs to be able to print in colour, and so I can produce leaflets and mail shots for my business

I was told to look at a Multi functional printer, so I can do other things with it. - Someone mentioned a laser one as well.

The ones I have looked at seem to cost a fortune to run, the inks seem to cost as much as the printer. I am know totally confused.

HELP - any suggestions

I run Canon Inkjet printers as the cartridges are considerably cheaper than othere especially HP  - and Lexxmark, well.. do you have a bottomless bank account?
My MP110 is a scanner, photocopier and printer.
Cartridges from Amazon

£7.50 a pair for black
Laser printers are more expensive to buy but cheaper to run - I have no experience of them myself, though.

It depends on how often you print. My kids were always bugging me that the inkjet colours in the printer were fading and missing. So every couple of weeks I would have to buy new inkjet cartridges!!

I ended up buying a HP Colour Laserjet 2600n £174 + vat.

It will give you that professional look for your mailshots too. Although the spare toner cartridges are more expensive, you will never waste one with it drying out like an inkjet.

If you go for an inkjet make sure you get one with separate carts for each colour, you can also buy compatible carts, not brand, for a lot less.
