Title: Customer cars boost Pescarolo Post by: Christopher on January 04, 2007, 02:20:16 pm From Autosport.....
Pescarolo Sport believe that supplying cars to customers will give them a competitive budget for this year. The team are moving away from using a modified Courage chassis, after they decided that it was not financially viable to alter the new car from the French manufacturer. Pescarolo's head of production, quality, and purchases Michel Elkoubi was quoted by Italian magazine Autosprint as saying that the team have received four orders for customer cars. He said: "Courage disregarded their promise to build a monocoque that would adapt to the mechanics and aerodynamics of our double-seaters which we've used so far and we want to re-utilise. "They made a new car that would require us and their other customers to make an unsustainable financial effort." Elkoubi added that the team presented their own designs to the other Courage customers, and they received orders for four cars. "With the revenues from the selling of the cars and components we'll be able to complete our budget," he said, "and we are sure we will be quicker as well." The new car is expected to run for the first time in public at the Le Mans Series collective test at Paul Ricard in March.
