Title: Re: Total Kitcar live anyone? Post by: Andy Zarse on October 04, 2006, 01:41:30 pm Would it be a Hawk version? which powerplant did your mate opt for? Peter, Bird is a girl (obviously) so she's not likely to know the answers to questions like that. ;) Title: Re: Total Kitcar live anyone? Post by: bird on October 04, 2006, 01:43:43 pm Shut up right. >:(
(He's not replied to my email yet, I will sound much more knowledgable shortly, please hold) cue greensleeves ;D Title: Re: Total Kitcar live anyone? Post by: Ferrari Spider on October 04, 2006, 02:00:29 pm The Stratos replica is a good kit car to have, many years ago I did think about building one myself, so would be interested to see more about Bird's chums' car, is the ' use correct? I do have a spare Ferrari 308 engine/gearbox, always looking for a good home for it ;)
The Hawk version is very accurate and Jerry Hawkridge supplies parts to owners of original cars, the body parts are that good. I seem to remember a chap something Foreman who built a very nice lime green road going version, got hooked, built a Ferrari p4 replica, liked it so much he still makes them? Corrections awaited!! Title: Re: Total Kitcar live anyone? Post by: Fran on October 04, 2006, 02:28:18 pm Bird's chums' car, is the ' use correct? Sadly no prize for you this time FS, but you were close! Bird's chum's car = the car of the chum of Bird Bird's chums' car = the car of the chums of Bird. Unless of course it is a syndicate of the chums of Bird who share the ownership of the car - in which case you would be correct! I can't correct you on the more technical aspects of your post, so will leave that to someone else. ;D F Title: Re: Total Kitcar live anyone? Corrections awaited!! Neil. Legend has it that he bought a secondhand Ferrari, just to find a V12 motor, which wouldn't fit the P4 replica. So he took a hacksaw to it. It fits now. They're like that in Kent.Title: Re: Total Kitcar live anyone? Post by: bird on October 04, 2006, 03:10:44 pm This is my new knowledge:
No, it is NOT A HAWK! It is the other one :-) The car is a CAE (Carson Automotive Engineering) Corse i, with a 3.0 12v Alfa V6 from and Alfa 164. (which I obviously knew before but was keeping to myself. Erm.) ;D Title: Re: Total Kitcar live anyone? BTW Fran, I new that all the time ;), any doubts about grammar, spelling and punctuation, look out for a book called "Eats shoots and leaves: The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation by Lynne Truss , very good and very funny. The Times newspaper had it as a freebie CD a few weeks ago. Title: Re: Total Kitcar live anyone? Post by: bird on October 04, 2006, 03:42:54 pm From Tim:
That car was a 'sister' to my car. They were both worked on in the same way by the same people. It had a Ferrari 308 V8 engine in dark blue. Even had the same Fiat Barchetta mirrors. The car was sold to Japan almost 8 years ago. ----- You guys need to meet I think. I must convince Tim he needs to come to LM next year. Title: Re: Total Kitcar live anyone? I purchased this book but only managed to get through a couple of chapters before the overwhelming urge to hunt Lynne Truss down and shove this book very far up her arse became uncontrollable and I had to stop reading. Great day, perfect weather and lots of wicked cars. I particularly liked this: http://www.toniqr.co.uk Title: Re: Total Kitcar live anyone? Post by: Andy Zarse on October 18, 2006, 04:59:58 pm From the toniq website:
Early October and the team has been delighted at the rave reviews from the motoring and specialist press. The FireBlade Toniq R has been in action at Snetterton, Donington, Marham and Brands Hatch, as well as countless hours at Honington. Now a ‘four and a half’ star EVO rated car, the Toniq R has drawn wide praise: Marham? When did it do Marham? Does MGMark know or was there a little publised security breach? Title: Re: Total Kitcar live anyone? Post by: rcutler on October 18, 2006, 05:02:41 pm Marham? When did it do Marham? I understand that it was there, but I wasn't :( Domestic harmony would have suffered to an unbearable degree, as that weekend fell between returning from hols and going racing. As I have now moved from Marham to the smoke :( , the precedent I set with the first two track day weekends has been continued by others there who have taken over the organisation, hence one running there without me. And a fine job they did too, with an Enzo, a couple of Murcielagos and a Carrera GT amongst the usual nice mix of other stuff. MG Mark Title: Re: Total Kitcar live anyone? They might have told us! :( Title: Re: Total Kitcar live anyone? MG Mark What can I say :-[ You are right. It would also help if work was designed to allow me to go racing as well. I shall make sure that I am around for the next one, being planned for April 07. As to persuading Mr T, surely operating on the Nike principle - just do it - would work i.e. make non-refundable bookings and then tell him what is happening? Particularly if it coincides with being a Christmas present..... MG Mark Title: Re: Total Kitcar live anyone?
