Title: Awesome auction on Radio Le Mans
Post by: Mr. Rick on June 10, 2003, 10:01:11 am
Just a little taster for those of us still in Blighty, there will be (hopefully - still finalising the finer details today) a charity auction that Radio Le Mans are promoting for us of some superb sportscar racing memorabilia in aid of the Whizz Kidz charity "The Movement For Non-Mobile Children", all collected at Sebring or since by Geoff Gibbs as follows (links to piccies of the items):

Andy Wallace driving gloves and boots (signed and used!):

In addition, since I took the above photos, Geoff and some of the children had a visit to see Bentley testing at Snetterton and were given the following items for the auction by the team:

2 flags signed by the 6 drivers; a brolly; ladies t shirt; 2 Le Mans packs with union jack/Bentley black t shirts with lapel badge, car stickers, key ring, rubber badge and set of postcards; 2 caps; mouse mat.

We have also been promised stuff at the circuit from The Racer's Group, Prodrive and Team Bucknum Racing.

Good luck!

Cheers

Rick

Forgot to add, that RLM are only likely to be promoting the auction, not handling it. Details of items and procedure for bids will be up at http://www.maisonblanche.co.uk (http://www.maisonblanche.co.uk) later today and then when everyone gets back.

Cheers

An added item that will be on site later today is a pair of driving gloves and boots signed and donated by Jeff Bucknum (son of the late great Ronnie). Racers Group stuff to follow too.

Just added another item we picked up at the weekend. Jeff Bucknum (son of the late great Ronnie) has donated a pair of driving boots and a pair of driving gloves form the 2002 ALMS season, signed by Jeff.

Other highlights include boots and gloves from Andy Wallace signed and a Team Bentley flag signed buy all six drivers (two of these up for grabs), so go to http://www.maisonblanche.co.uk/auction.html and get bidding!!
