(that was changing down through the gears by the way).

Not sure how you will tackle the sounds for wheel changes tho...

Jarama was great fun! Great weather on Friday and Saturday, yesterday a bit cold and windy, but that was just what the doctor ordered for the nasty J&B hangover I had. :(

We (hgb and I) got a silly cheap hostel in the centre of Madrid and visited Jarama during the day, which is about 20 miles from Madrid and went into town in the evening, getting hammered in those typical Spanish bodegas.
Walking through Madrid at night, back to the hostel, I found myself very popular with the girls. It didn't take very long to find out they were professionals though. What a bummer. >:( (and no, I didn't)  ;)

The Jarama track is fun to watch, but apparently the drivers weren't too happy about it, because you get in each other's way very easily. On Friday nobody really bothered about having the right tickets, so we could get some nice track shots, not hindered by the fencing. Saturday and Sunday were a different story, so I don't have track shots from the race.

I was allowed in the Spyker pit area though, which might have something to do with the orange cake I bought them on Saturday. HGB does that every race apparently with the Rollcentre and Kruse teams and he always gets a free ticket. ;D

I will sort my pics tonight.

I cant see an F1 team being bought as cheaply as that!!!

Good to see you are keeping up your strike rate with the ladies tho...  :P

Didnt look like many people there tho.

Actually, it looked like it was just Pieter and me. Just look at the car park.

I returned yesterday late in the evening. That was a fantastic weekend, yet again. It was great to share this weekend with Pieter. I'm so glad I went to this race as it was the last one in Madrid and the city is so awesome, so full of life. The circuit is great too although they closed down most of the spectator areas because it was deemed too dangerous, that speeks for itself and the ACO organisation ::) . More pictures coming soon.

And some news for next season:
Races will be at Spa, Nürburgring, Silverstone, Monza (yes, in again), Valencia and a circuit yet to be selected.

@ Pieter and DfH: It now looks very unlikely that I'll be at the A1GP because my other brother is coming to Aachen too next weekend.

Is that official?

Silverstone? well at least we had 1 year away from the soulless dump.

It's not official yet, you know the ACO. But that's what made the rounds. I talked to several press guys and they all mentioned the above circuits.

hello all just back from jarma, was it just me or were there no facilities to get a drink or food at the track other than the place at the back of the pits?

I hope it does not go back there

That was the only place for food and drinks. The sandwiches were actually quite good.

There was talk that a new circuit in the south of Madrid is planned.
