Does anyone know why it's so called?
Or why it smells so bloody good?
-
WD-40 literally stands for Water Displacement, 40th attempt. That's the name straight out of the lab book used by the chemist who developed WD-40 back in 1953. The chemist, Norm Larsen, was attempting to concoct a formula to prevent corrosion—a task which is done by displacing water. Norm's persistence paid off when he perfected the formula on his 40th try.
From thier website.
Don't know why you like the smell, but I would seek advice from other areas of this forum if I were you! ;D

Indeed, all the tools that a man needs for every job on a car. If it moves and shouldn't, apply duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, apply WD-40 and hit with a hammer. The latter should work on the first or second attempt, let alone the 40th....... ;D

Never tried WD40 on kids - does it stop that high pitched sqeaking noise they make early mornings when you have a hangover?

The kids squeaking or the wonky wheels on their drag-along buggies? ???
-
WD 40 claims to have over a thousand uses, but I notice that they have missed one of the most important ones from their list. It is really good for removing the glue left on your windscreen by the Le Mans car park stickers ;D

I never knew that - I use nail varnish remover...

removing those stickers? what for? ???

After 9 years of LM and 3 classics the windscreen would be useless to look out of!
-
Apparently it makes a good flamethrower as well , haven't tested it yet myself , think I'll wait till November 5th.

Ok, who's still go their camping passes / car park passes (apart from Tom and Me) on their windscreens?

Erm, I did until last week when a crack propagated across my windscreen which resulted in Autograss binning it >:(

Guilty
-
...also guilty, just never seem to get around to cleaning that windscreen.
-
I still have the glue leftovers as a reminder.
-
I have to confess that I remove the stickers and they get transferred to the inside of the Garage door which now looks a bit of a mess. Don’t seem to be able to bring myself to actually chuck them away. ;D

i stuck my Kuntari ones the wheelie bin... makes easy identifcation for retrieval of chav bin!

Mine are always very carefully removed, in fact if we can get away with it they are never actually stuck on. They are then neatly filed away with all the other stuff from that years event.
Now, where's my anorak gone.....
-
Mine are with a lot of other race tickets, in a clip frame in my office.
Oi pretzel! Come back with my anorak..........
