It bugs me that the amarican le mans series has got 9 rounds and LMES has only got 5.i think for next year they should have 7.
1. Monza
2.Istanbul
3.Brands Hatch
4.Nurburing
5.Zandvoort
6.Jarama
7.Spa

Donnington again,

I really think the final should be on the Bugatti Circuit though!

Also i think they should change the british round every year, they had it at donington this year next brands  then silverstone then back to donington

F**ck Silverstone Donningtons viewing is better by far. It's also a lot more central than Brands

Spot on Neal. Everything was better at Donny than Silverstone, campsite, viewing even the weather was good which suprised me being so far North. Keep it there every year I say

Donington was much better than Silverstone, in every aspect, so I hope they keep it there for a long time to come.

I'm not so bothered about only having a handful of races, afterall they are 6 hours as opposed to the usual 2hrs 45mins.

ALMS series gets a lot more sponsorship and coverage than the LMES.

Brands Hatch would be more friendly to us "Continentals" ;)

Monza is out for good, you can forget all about Zandvoort.

My '07 wish:

• Paul Ricard (great for high speed)
• A1 Ring (great camping on the mountain slope ;D)
• Nürburgring (mal wieder besoffen am...)
• Spa (tradition)
• Brands Hatch (or Donington)
• Bugatti Circuit (and camp near the Dunlop Bridge)

Yep, watching ALMS on Speed Channel (via MotorsTV here in Europe) says it all.

Perfect.  30 minutes drive.

I'd like to see some tracks I've never been before. So Brands, Brno, Dijon, Hungaroring and Estoril for me please. And Spa of course. And the Nürburgring. A1 Ring sounds good as well.

Then again, I'll probably show up at most LMS races, not matter where they are.

I think Brno would be a nice addition to the calendar. I've been there and it's really a great track. The track layout and the variation in altitude is very nice, the atmosphere at the track is great and you can get yourself pissed for a couple euros there.

Maybe they should organise it at Zandvoort just to piss off the people who are complaining about the noise. Then find every Panoz and Covette on the planet and all enter them and let them go for six hours. That'll teach them.

While I mostly agree with that, the pit lane at Doni is the Worst one I have ever seen, It really is not suited to cars or endurance racing.

I personally wouldn't want a 7 race series, the ones we have are enough for me thanks. However, in the above list you are forgetting that the LMS forms part of pre-qualifying for Le Mans, so you could include that on your list.

2. Istanbul - are you serious? If it wasn't for the Tukish Govenment paying the series to go, they wouldn't.

3. Brands Hatch. Too small Pit Lane, you could never get all the cars/teams in there.

Those who went to Donington obviously didn't go into the paddock or see the garages!  If a team was unlucky enough to get one of the first few carages then they only just about had enough room for the truck behind the garage!  And talking of garages,  who ever designed them quite clearly never measured a LPM1 or LPM2 car!  Plus there's a used car lot at one end of the paddock,  I know circuits have to make money somehow but a used car lot!!!!!!  I know Silverstone has it's failings but at least there's plenty of space!  Especially when no one turns up to watch a race which has the same cars that they trek to LM to watch!

Whilst the viewing at Donington is superb the rest of the facilities need a rebuild!  Loud speakers are worse than Silverstone!

But hey ho, Silverstone, Brands or Donington are fine for me as long as we get a race!

From the team' perspective it isn't really a comfortable track maybe. But for the spectators and the drivers it's great.

Geoff, I have been to Silverstone so many times I've lost count and have very rarely been able to make head or tail of the noise that issues forth from the speaker system - with the exception of the Classics last year.  However in the three visits I have made to Donington the speaker system has been very good.  In fact it was so good for last year's Moto GP I thought I was going to go deaf.   :o

That's my old stomping ground as well.  I lived for 10 years in Winsford, just 5 miles from Little Budworth (nearest village).

Wouldn't the circuit a bit narrow for LMS-type racing??

what circuts would you like to have at

1. Done for good - the residents killed it. It's a nice circuit but a bitch to get to (as Shorty said). Nevertheless, I'm glad I've been there twice.
2. Not loved by most of the teams and confirmed not to be in next year's schedule. That's what they decided at the 'Ring, thank god.
3. I loved Donington for the viewing and camping but as mentioned, Oulton Park would be nice.
4. Yep, surely.
5. Would be nice but I don't see it.
6. To be done next week  :)
7. Yep, of course.

Actually, I quite like the format as it is. Five LMS races (+LM 24Hs +Spa 24Hs +Spa 6Hs -Istanbul) are a lot to go for if you follow each race on-site.

I think the A1 Ring is a huge construction site nowadays and there is trouble with residents too. It's a nice circuit, though.

I was never at Bnro but was said that it's a nice circuit, so yep.

Paul Ricard would be nice as it's dirt cheap to get to. I saw flights from € 19,- (plus tax) if booked early. The blue and yellow stripes on the tarmac look cool on pictures, too.

Must have been a different location to me then,  I was at Fogarties for Qualifying for the LMS race and hadn't got a clue what was going on untill the last car had gone by at which point the commentator said "and in last place on the grid......"

Actually found a spot at Silverstone last weekend where I could hear the loadspeakers!   Exit of Club they are very good!

Anyway for what it's worth I too think they should keep the series to 5 races, Endurance cars are very expensive to run and if they series is expanded I would expect a few teams to drop out,  I heard  somewhere that Monza was back on for next year, but can't remember if that was FIA GT's or LMS!

Plenty of space there may be but from the perspetive of  the spectator it is, when compared to Donnington, a souless, bland, boring place to be.  And another thing... it 'smells' too much of F1 - Ugh!

As far as I am concerned (as a spectator) the British round at Donny was great, though Brands would suit me too.  Another circuit with some soul and very close to where I live!!!!

I have absolutely no insider information and I don't know what the situation is with contracts for next year but my money would be on JP wanting to run this so Brands would get my bet - I don't think the pit lane would be a problem, I reckon there's enough space.

Unless there is a contract in place I can't see it going to Donny again, I wasn't there that weekend but having seen the pit lane for real and the pictures of the race set up it looked like a huge accident waiting to happen.

I too would love to see the 2007 UK round at Brands.  With the natural amphitheatre and rolling hills and bends, the circuit would be a real challenge - a bit like Sebring with hills.

The idea of watching them round Paddock is just great.  Handy for the tunnel and local accommodation for me.   Sounds good.  Like anybody would listen to us? ???

BOAC 1000 used to happen there after all.  Wow, I remember when....

Got to agree, personally I would love to see a big race like the LMES at Oulton Park, its such a nice nice track with good viewing.

I have to say that the idea of a 'proper' race at Brands would be great.  The circuit has always been good but Jonathan Palmer and his team have vastly improved it and it is now a truly great venue.  Sure, the pitlane is a bit tight  (but on the other hand) do we really want our beloved sportscars to become like F1 and only run at antiseptic circuits with everything bright and shiny and perfect.  I sometimes think that if Brands was in continental Europe we would all be in raptures saying how wonderful it was, but then again the Kent cuisine isn't up to much.

Some of my happiest days at LM were when it was a bit tatty and lived-in back in the late 70s or early 80s.  Spa also had much more charm when it was a bit more untidy and unf1-like (is that a word?).

Incidentally and very pedantically for all the enthusiasts of the midlands venue it is spelt with three Ns, not four (Donington not Donnington).

The only good thing for me about Oulton is a 30min drive. The track is to narow and it is very hard to over take in british GT so whats it going to be like for the sports cars.Brands is the best track for the UK next year because there is nothing wrong with it

I would love the big sports cars to come back to Brands. Not only is it only 45 mins away from me some of the best sports cars race I have seen where there and being the closest track to London i am sure it would not be impossible to draw a large crowd.

However I think Brands only has so many 'noisy' days per year when its allowed to use the full GP track. So unless JP can get an increase he will have to drop another meeting that runs on the full track, some of these are the big money earners like the Superbikes.
