Title: Re: CA Channel Islands, Meet Poll. Post by: rcutler on September 08, 2006, 03:22:05 pm Can any of the locals tell me what ferry companies run and if then run in January as I am struggling to find one that goes from the UK to the islands.
Checked Flights and there is no problem around £60-£90. Title: Re: CA Channel Islands, Meet Poll. Post by: RS2 Babe on September 10, 2006, 10:43:59 am :-* :-* :-*
There is only one ferry company that comes from the UK to Jersey and that is Condor Ferries. I think you have the option of a fast cat which takes about 3.5 hours or the overnight traditional ferry. Its probably cheaper to fly but you only have the choice of BMI Baby, Flybe, BA and Thompson Fly (from Doncaster). I hope lots of CA'ers will be able to make the trip. :-* Title: Re: CA Channel Islands, Meet Poll. Post by: Robspot on September 10, 2006, 11:38:39 am Any Southerners can fly from Southampton with FlyBE for £66.
Title: Re: CA Channel Islands, Meet Poll. Post by: termietermite on September 10, 2006, 12:26:03 pm The return trip from St Malo via Condor seems to be about £50 or so for a foot passenger for the froggies.
Title: Re: CA Channel Islands, Meet Poll. Post by: fagey on September 11, 2006, 09:53:29 am sometimes the hotels over here do special fly/boat weekend rates.. especially off season.. so methinks I will do a bit of snooping around to find some deals ;D
Title: Re: CA Channel Islands, Meet Poll. Post by: Brian(Liverpool boys) on September 12, 2006, 04:17:53 pm The voting on this poll was 1 for December, 11 for January and 2 for Febuary. I have reset the Poll with Januarys week end dates for you to vote on them.

I've voted and I am all excited about the prospect of you all coming here already ;D There is quite an active car club over here and my boss is one of the big cheeses in that so I ought to see if there is anything going on during January. If not I could try to arrange something. Their members have some top marques and a few classics to boot - they always look for an excuse to show them off. Brian, being as you are organising the poll - I hope this means you will be coming over as well - would be great to see you. Byeee Lisa :-* Title: Re: CA Channel Islands, Meet Poll. Title: Re: CA Channel Islands, Meet Poll. Post by: fagey on September 15, 2006, 10:09:11 am I dont think the courts would take likely to that :police: because the weekends are set out months in advance :o and so both me and the kids mother have to work out our future events carefully... last season I only got to our rugby club's league games lunches once.. and the absolute hell i got for the LM moto gp and 24hrs does not bear remembering >:(
Title: Re: CA Channel Islands, Meet Poll. Post by: termietermite on September 15, 2006, 10:46:07 am I assume then that the former mrs fagey would not take kindly to their spending the weekend with a load of drunken sports car enthusiasts?
Title: Re: CA Channel Islands, Meet Poll. Post by: fagey on September 15, 2006, 11:12:19 am absolutely not.. she would go nuts(http://www.r1-forum.com/forums/images/smilies/rant.gif).. and I'm sure that the little darlings  would love it... not As they are 5,8 and 10
so we have a bit of a predicament Title: Re: CA Channel Islands, Meet Poll. Post by: dks240 on September 15, 2006, 11:23:48 am I would be interested in meeting up at some point over a weekend, work permitting. No real preference to dates being arranged.
For those who haven't seen the Island before. The inclusion of an Island drive would be good, with a decent route to take in some of the better sections of road and views. Broken up by a stop at somewhere like the 'Hungry man'. Essentially, what makes up a decent sunday morning drive on the Island. Title: Re: CA Channel Islands, Meet Poll. What does everybody else think?so we have a bit of a predicament Title: Re: CA Channel Islands, Meet Poll. Post by: termietermite on September 15, 2006, 06:52:00 pm My plan is to take the train to St Malo and foot-passenger it across. However, anybody from the South planning to take a car across who would like a contribution to the cost of the crossing should pm me. Don't be surprised if I don't reply for a week or two though.
