Post by: fagey on August 07, 2006, 12:21:17 pm
Off trhe BBC website-
'Villeneuve has already complained about the lack of offers he had received in F1 for next season and now looks likely to pursue other forms of racing, with one-off races like Le Mans in the frame.'

Hmmmmmmmmmm ;)

That could be some good publicity for anyone who has the balls to hire him. I don't think Audi will, nor Peugeot. Maybe Porsche?

If he does he won't be the first Villeneuve at Le Mans. His uncle, also called Jacques had a go in 1983 driving in, an odd twist, a Sehcar, which to all and intents was a Sauber, his nephews former employer.

Putting Jacques the younger into your car at LM would be not be a bad idea. He has a very good finishing record in both GP and IndyCar before, he is PR savvy and would bring some strong sponsors to a worthwhile team and most important he is pretty quick.

If he where to win he would be one of few drivers to win a world F1 drivers crown the indy 500 and the 24 hours. Shame he never won Monaco.

At least he has enough time on his hands now, since BMW will not use him anymore this season after his big off in Germany. They want to give the remaining races to Kubica, in all fairness, the kid did do a decent job in Hungary.

Would love to see him in the RFH dome, but probably to expensive, but with Jan Lammers you never know

Then he hasn't quite matched Graham Hill then who, if memory serves correctly, managed all four.......   Mario came close, but I can't think of anyone else other than Hilll Sr who has managed the main hat-trick?
