Title: Re: festival of speed Post by: Chris24 on July 05, 2006, 02:05:12 pm I will be there as usual.
Now does anyone on here live in the Goodwood / Chichester / Arundal / Bognor Regis area. I ask because I need local knowledge on where I might find a pub that has Sky Sports, that might be willing to put the Rugby League game on, on Friday night at 8pm. I don't think there is any World Cup on that night but there may be Wimbledon tennis. Anyone any ideas. You'll be tarred and feathered round here if you make requests like that. If I were you I'd take a leaf out of the Junior Executive's handbook; check into a Travel Lodge and watch it on Sky Sport in between polishing the pylon to the porn and Motors TV. If you're still bored you could try dismantling the Corby Executive Trouser Press (ps don't put an ordinary leisure trouser in, they don't like it and jam up) It's quite tricky getting it back together again. ;) Anyway, Gareth Cheesman lives... http://www.alan-partridge.co.uk/multimedia/videoclips/coogansrun/coogansrun.htm (http://www.alan-partridge.co.uk/multimedia/videoclips/coogansrun/thumbs/04Gareth%20decides%20to%20celebrate%20clinching%20the%20deal%20by%20having%20a%20j arthur rank.jpg) Title: Re: festival of speed Post by: Nordic on July 05, 2006, 06:34:51 pm Shame I can't make it this year, I will miss Greg & Leo Mansell showing of their skills in Formula BMW cars.

Title: Re: festival of speed Post by: Rhino on July 06, 2006, 09:20:49 pm I will be there on saturday. Chris if your staying near Arundel the Barnham hotel bar would probably show it. It's right opposite the train station.
Title: Re: festival of speed Post by: sceetum on July 06, 2006, 11:18:54 pm The Barnham Hotel bar is also frequented by the local pikies so not the nicest of places!!
Chris, if you are near Bognor there are a couple of pubs in the town center who show sky, the Station (which surprisingly is next to the train station!!) or there are a couple near to me, i live in Felpham a mile or so out of Bognor. If you pm me i can give you their phone numbers so you can check if they are showing it. Title: Re: festival of speed Post by: RS2 Babe on July 07, 2006, 01:27:17 am :-* :-* :-*

Everyone on this forum knows where I stand on him (and I would like to be standing on him ;D). Would be nice to have a chat with Delboy (DW). Exactly and this was confirmed yesterday in a 'top of the hill' interview. He managed to get in more about his boys and all his/their sponsors in before anything else and then proceeded to continue in the same way. one big PR machine - everyone else is there for 'fun'! Title: Re: festival of speed Post by: Chris24 on July 09, 2006, 02:06:27 am Thanks for the pub info people. I actually watched the game in the pub across from the station in Barnham. We got the pictures, but had to put up with some very crap Karrioki (how do you spell that word !) instead of the commentary.
Goodwood was great as usual apart from spraining my ankle at the bottom of the hill as i was setting off for the rally stage at the top. I still made it though, not being beaten that easily. Memory of the event had to be the chap that very nearerly wrecked a Ford GT in front of me this afternoon. Too much right boot coming out of turn 1, got it sideways, the car swapped ends on him and he was heading for the bales. God knows how he managed to avoid hitting them, pure luck i guess. He spun it back round and set off again to a massive round of applause. Made several great pictures that i will post on here after down loading them. |
