Title: England v Holland? Post by: Andy Zarse on June 22, 2006, 11:59:27 am Hopefully, once the small matter of Ecuador and Portugal are out of the way, it looks like there'll be a good old England v Holland footy match on saturday 1 July, the prize being a meeting with Brazil in the semis. :o
Then we'll see how deep this hands-across-the-ocean love-in stuff truly runs! Bring it on! ;) ;D Title: Re: England v Holland? Post by: Paddy_NL on June 22, 2006, 12:36:54 pm hmm, 1996 springs to mind ::) >:(
Title: Re: England v Holland? Post by: Doris on June 22, 2006, 12:42:52 pm It could also make the friendly in November an interesting affair. ::)

(with a referee this time without a mental disorder for pulling cards please :-\) Title: Re: England v Holland? Post by: Fran on June 25, 2006, 11:07:53 pm The problems was unsufficient orange smoke and orange footy clothes!
Just not enuff orange generally... so the ref had to keep mixing yellow n red :-\ Title: Re: England v Holland? Post by: nickliv on June 25, 2006, 11:08:40 pm It was unbelievable. Only saw the last 30 mins though.
I've seen better humoured ice hockey games, thought it might be last man standing at one point. Title: Re: England v Holland? Post by: DickieAttwood on June 25, 2006, 11:16:51 pm Great game ::)
I'll leave it at that. No I won't.. Holland looked superb in their Club Arnage shirts! England expects, you know the rest boys. D.A. Title: Re: England v Holland? Title: Re: England v Holland? Post by: rcutler on June 26, 2006, 12:43:09 am What an apauling referree!!!! ITV despite hating the Dutch have said maybe we should have a re-match!!!!
16 Yellow cards and 4 Reds!!! Figo should have been sent off alot earlier and many of the dutch and portugees didn't deserve thier yellows let alone red cards!! Rant over. See you on Wednesday for a re-match!! Title: Re: England v Holland? Title: Re: England v Holland? Post by: knetter on June 26, 2006, 09:14:51 am At least it won't come to a clash between England and Holland, so now their will be no need for unfriendlyness!! Not that it would have come to that anyway ;D
On the whole, I think Holland was better in football, and Portugal were the better actors! Don't get me started on the ref, he should participate in a game of russian roulette, where he is the only player and all the chambers of the revolver should be loaded! He ruined it for both sides and the public attending the game :'( Better luck in 2008 at the european championship! Title: Re: England v Holland? Post by: Dan Lowe on June 26, 2006, 09:18:33 am Granted the ref was a bit card happy but to be honest if the players didn't try to kick/head butt/push each other around the pitch he might not have had to be.
Good game for England in the end, cheers lads ;) ... England vs Scolari take 3 Title: Re: England v Holland? Post by: Robspot on June 26, 2006, 09:30:10 am The ref was nothing short of a disgrace but on the positive side - thanks very much!
Deco and Costinha out, Figo may be out after Fifa review his head butt. I think the ref did brilliantly for England ;D Title: Re: England v Holland? We'll probably wait until we actually play them on saturday ::) Title: Re: England v Holland? Post by: Paddy_NL on June 26, 2006, 10:03:48 am Hmm, yes - you're right. Saturday it is. My apologies :-\

Post by: LangTall on June 26, 2006, 11:56:49 am PRoblem is, you ad an extra color (orange). With the dutch flag you don't. But we'll see, plenty of time to decide on that. ;)
Title: Re: England v Holland? Post by: Paddy_NL on June 26, 2006, 12:52:43 pm A nice little DfH logo on the sleeve would be nice (IMHO of course) Would this be too much? ???Title: Re: England v Holland? Post by: LangTall on June 26, 2006, 01:14:17 pm Damn. ;D
How cool is that (mandatory also for all 2007 DfH-members. ;) ) Title: Re: England v Holland? Post by: Fran on June 26, 2006, 01:18:19 pm Will DfH still have the world cup lion next year?
I would have thought they might want to forget it as quickly as possible! 8) Does look good tho... ;D (can I get a ladies one! ::) ) Title: Re: England v Holland? Post by: Bob U on June 26, 2006, 01:25:10 pm Like it Paddy but please could you turn the Union flag on the back right side up
Don't really expect you to know which is the right way when most that I saw at LM where upside down Title: Re: England v Holland? Post by: Paddy_NL on June 26, 2006, 01:27:18 pm Sorry Bob :-[
Will DfH still have the world cup lion next year? I actually think the risk of getting caught steeling logos by the KNVB (Dutch football association) has gone down significantly since last night. The lion has always been linked with Holland, the colour has always been Orange, and we'll drink again in 2007 ;)(all this besides the fact the orange shirts were bl00dy expensive this year, we'd like to believe we can wear it again next year) :) Title: Re: England v Holland? Post by: Fran on June 26, 2006, 01:43:24 pm the fact the orange shirts were bl00dy expensive this year, we'd like to believe we can wear it again next year) :) LOL - how Dutch! ;D P.S. Just teasing - I think we all know how generous DfH are! Title: Re: England v Holland? Post by: Andy Zarse on June 26, 2006, 05:10:36 pm Sorry Holland, I was cheering for you last night. :( I wish I had not been so presumptious as to start this thread. It would have been good though.
And as for Mr Ivanov the ref :o what a plonker. Title: Re: England v Holland? Post by: Fax on June 26, 2006, 06:37:32 pm This is where I call in for your expertise, is it me or are the refs going nuts with yellow and red cards?
I've seen a fair number of Premeirship games over the past few years on TV over here and its always seemed to me that the British refs "Let 'em play" ,and takes a particularly ugly tackle to get carded. With these World Cup refs it looks like everytime someone sneezes a ref is whipping out his little sin book. WTF! Feel sorry for the Dutch guys, they got hosed by the officiating and some academy award winning dives by the Port's. That goal of Beckham's in the England game was a thing of beauty though. Just my novice opinion on this subject. Fax Title: Re: England v Holland? Post by: turkish.sps on June 26, 2006, 07:37:23 pm The refs are certainly going nuts this year, and its all because of a FIFA directive to protect the big names.
Drinking for Holland/Diving for Portugal!!! Title: Re: England v Holland?
