Title: Server crash
Post by: DJet on June 13, 2006, 08:42:26 am
Really sorry, - but our trusty old server crashed in a bad way yesterday.

It still responded to the basics, which ment I couldn't simply engage the spare server, but had to wait until people got into the office, and rebooted it.

Regards

Lennart / Djet

Thanks Lennert

Our only worry was that somebody who could fix it knew that it was down.
Have a good weekend.

I was a bit worried that "the last one is switching the light off" was meant personally.  ;D

Thanks very much Lennart.

No.  From the flakey way it was responding I wonders if it was a DoS attack.

It's a Denial of Service attack. wikipedia has some more info here

For goodness sake Peter, if you're going to sit at home all day the least you can do is bring yourself up to date technologically  ::)

I'm just glad it's back again too.
I was trying to download pages 31-72 and it fell apart. I think the wornderful "Werners" guide simply broke the internet, couldnt take the strain.

I ended up having to find some of the other links (Aysedaysi's site) to complete the print job.

First time round I drained the ink tanks on the printer by page 39.

I foresee the guide becoming accepted as "Werner" the way dictionaries are either Oxford or Webster.

And robots are Asimov...
