Title: Friday Lunch! Post by: Chrisgr31 on June 06, 2006, 11:50:08 am Traditionally we have headed south east from Le Mans to a nice restaurant in a village for Lunch.
This year this is not practical as my wife has kindly arranged to arrive in Le Mans by TGV at 13:00! So therefore I need to be at the station at that time. So our lunch plans need changing. Anyone know of any good restaurants in the Le Mans area that won't be charging a fortune and have some crappy menu on? Title: Re: Friday Lunch! Post by: Kpy on June 06, 2006, 12:33:20 pm My favourite is Le Flambadou 14 rue St-Flaceau tel.02 43 24 88 38 - specialities and superb wines from south-west France
There's also the excellent Auberge des 7 Plats 79 Grande-Rue tel.02 43 24 57 77 Both are in the old town not far from the cathedral. Near the station is St-Lo 97 avenue General Leclerc tel.02 43 24 71 85- good value and traditional cooking. Title: Re: Friday Lunch! Post by: Chrisgr31 on June 07, 2006, 12:07:38 am Thanks for that, now all I need to do is remember to take the details with me!
Title: Re: Friday Lunch! Post by: termietermite on June 09, 2006, 12:05:59 am Le Corail opposite the station is fine - might bump into a certain Hugh Chamberlain in there - if it's good enough for him it's good enough for me!

Several places to eat in the area and nice to have some information regarding them before we went on our recce. Those present at lunch agreed it was a good choice, lovely food, reasonable price , good service etc. |
