Title: Sat Nav and maps etc. for PDA
Post by: MikeH on June 02, 2006, 04:56:42 am
My dad is lending me his PDA with built in Sat Nav for the trip down to Le Mans. However, with the new motorway, I assume that it's map for France won't be completely up-to-date... is there anywhere I can download info/maps etc. for it, for cheap/free?

Sorry to be vague, I'm new to this sort of thing!

Cheers,
Mike

How old is the Map?    My Laguna new last year has the motorway on it.  Plus you don't really need the Sat Nav to get there.  Le Mans is well Sign Posted.  It's usefull around the town though.

What model of SatNav is it?

When I wanted to upgrade the maps on my PDA based satnav I had to buy a whole new full priced software package as their wasn't any sort of discounted upgrade route. :(

The only tricky part of the route is going through Rouen, which the Satnav should be ok with if it is only a year or so old.

Not sure actually, I'll dig it out later and have a look. If the worst comes to the worse, our two other drivers have been before, so I'll just follow them...
