Title: Re: Thank You For Flying Aston Martin and Have A Nice Day Post by: Fax on May 22, 2006, 04:12:28 pm No Photoshop there Chop, thats a real photo, like I said I saw it and Pedro was easily six feet in the air, I really thought when he landed it was going to dig in and roll but it just skipped again and slammed into the tire barrier broadside...HARD!

It was posted by some guy on the ALMS forums.
You can usually recognize my work by the abundance of photos of my feet and the inside of lens caps. ;D Title: Re: Thank You For Flying Aston Martin and Have A Nice Day Post by: Paddy_NL on May 22, 2006, 05:23:02 pm I usually have photo's of empty pieces of race track, or a close up of the fence ;D

Also, good to see that it didn't end worse.
Title: Re: Thank You For Flying Aston Martin and Have A Nice Day Post by: Fax on May 23, 2006, 10:00:02 pm I've seen this sequence posted on several sites now. Has anyone seen the video of it yet? My Dad and a friend both said that during the CBS coverage of the race Sunday they showed the Aston flight (and remarked about it traveling further than the Wright Bros. first flight) but neither taped it. I suppose it'll end up out on the web eventually. I'd like to see how it started because when I wheeled around it was already well airborne, I was following another gaggle of cars heading down the other side of the hill toward the Honda bridge when it first got launched.

Fax They replayed it on the jumbotrons at the track on Sunday towards the end of the race. The 007 car also beached itself pretty well at the end of thunder valley on Saturday. It was towed out, then left a nice smoky burnout leaving the scene. ;D Title: Re: Thank You For Flying Aston Martin and Have A Nice Day Post by: Fax on May 24, 2006, 02:09:06 pm Morning Guys,
Must have missed the replay at the end of the race, it was the first Mid-Ohio trip for my buddy I went with and I dragged him over every inch of the place. We watched the last half hour or so up in the esses right about where Scotty's old perch was and it didn't look like the video board there was working properly. I'll have to keep an eye out for it on Speedchannel. Up at turn 11 it seems that by moving the barriers back the drivers are being a little more aggressive coming over the brow, saw several cars putting wheels over the curbs and in the dirt, before they moved the wall back it came up pretty quickly! The bikers are going to be SO happy those cement patches are gone. Fax Title: Re: Thank You For Flying Aston Martin and Have A Nice Day Post by: BigH on May 24, 2006, 02:13:21 pm Fax!

Title: Re: Thank You For Flying Aston Martin and Have A Nice Day Post by: Snoring Rhino on May 24, 2006, 07:59:30 pm I really thought this was a wind up from the Vette faithfull, the way it was in the pictures didnt seem right, but thats cos its flying sideways and backwards, great shot. I think they should get Tom in to sort out the grass on the splitter though, need a good trim!
